Music and my nerves
by ChristiSunshine
6/10/08

In the past, music has been a great outlet for me when I am completely stressed out and about to lose my mind.  If I was angry, I could throw in some Rob Zombie or Nine Inch Nails and tell the world to F off.  Happy?  I could go for a little old school disco and dance around the condo.  Now, however, I'm beginning to feel just the opposite.  Every time I turn on the radio, I spend more time flipping through channels to get away from songs that absolutely pluck my one last good nerve.  Jesse McCartney's "Leavin'" and Ray J's "Sexy, Can I?" are at the top of my list.  On several occasions, both of Louisville's Top 40 stations are playing one of these songs AT THE SAME TIME.  BTW, anyone approaches me at the club and asks, "Sexy, Can I?" will be wearing whatever drink I just spent my hard earned money on and then I'll be even more pissed.  I think this trend started with Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer."  I kindof hate to hate that song because it's got a good beat, but I think the words are absolutely stupid.  There just doesn't seem to be alot out there these days as far as music that has both a good set of lyrics and is well written musically.  What's a girl to do?
