You know how every year or so there's a story about some pretty hot high school teacher/trainer/tutor/whatever who, uh, gets a little busy with her students on the side? Like Debra LaFave. I always wonder if these stories are just some sort of mass media hoax - or a porn video gone too far - because everyone who was in a position of authority at my high school wasn't younger than 72. And none of them were even remotely sexy on any level. But apparently these things do happen, and this year's hot but completely idiotic individual is a trainer at Tustin High School in Orange County who did much more than tape ankles.
Hope Jacoby, 23, who has worked with athletes at the school for the last year, was arrested last week on suspicion of oral copulation of a minor and unlawful sex with a minor, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino.
Sheriff's deputies were informed of the unlawful acts by someone who saw a text message photograph, Amormino said. The boy was between 14 and 17 years old.

I tell you, cell phone cameras will be the death of us all. When will you people learn!Oh, by the way, this story broke on Christmas Day. That's quite a gift to give your parents.
Anyhow, Jacoby was arrested because she "abused a relationship of trust", although I'm not sure why anyone would ever trust a high school trainer. My high school trainer actually practiced for a year without being licensed.
Hilariously, this quote also came out from the story on Jacoby from the Sherrif's Department spokesman:
"Even though the age gap may be fairly close, it's still illegal and we will arrest," he said.
My suggestion for Jacoby? Move to Mississippi. I'm pretty sure this is all totally legal there.

Mug shots will never be confused with Glamour Shots, but it looks like the same girl. Shame! When will these people realize? Hook up with any one you want to of legal age...just leave the kids alone! All I can think of is that these people has esteem and character flaws that will not allow them to have a relationship with another adult. They have to be in control and the only way to do that is with a minor. I had some good looking teachers back in the day, and they never gave us a second look. My how times have changed!

Whew.!!..........what happened..???........i think i just passed out................or was i dreamin , that i was a teenager again and not 44 years old......... in high school i did not need a trainer but god as my witness i need a trainer now... i am going to save my pennys and see about gettin her out early for BAD behavior.............i am looking for a good ankle tape job.........

C'mon guys, let's not get things twisted here. The girl got the short end of the stick by a long shot so please don't treat the kid like such a victim. I know that 99% of guys when confronted with a girl that looks even half that good would do the same thing. And do you honestly think that she forced that kid to let her give him a BJ?? If she would have said "let me give you a BJ or I won't tape your ankles" to me my pants would have dropped like Tony Romo in the shower!! lol (That sounds a lot funnier to me than it probably should!!)

For reasons that I think are somewhat clear, this stuff only works when a woman does it to a younger guy, at least in terms of hilarity factor.
However, plenty of people do report on pro athletes who take advantage of underage girls. There was a former Patriots player accused of raping a 14-year old girl this weekend. That's pretty terrible.
Obviously, there's a double standard here. But I think these women should consider themselves lucky they aren't put in the same category as the former Pats player.

I really don't know what posesses these adults to engage in sexual acts with minors. I mean, seriously....if they are that desperate for attention, there are other ways of finding it. But many of the times, its been said that older people like the so-called "power" it brings to them.

Probably depends on the student.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I think the age of consent in Hawaii is 14, as long as the two are within 5 years in age, and 16 is fair game. She still might have been SOL, since the kid may have been 14, but damn... Hawaii might want to re-evaluate that, imo.

All I know is that in today's high tech world, why would someone film this or take pictures of this on a camera phone?! I don't think people are gonna learn. Not only that, WHY would a girl of her age do this with a young minor? I mean, do you not think that a boy of that age won't talk about this to his friends?! I think its completely idiotic that someone as beautiful as her would stoop that low. I guess they haven't learned over the years about how serious this is. Well, I hope she now will enjoy being called a sexual predator, since that is what will happen when she has to register. A girl with a bright future ruined over some cheap thrill. SAD!
