- how it works
With Pre season mere weeks away I would like to take a moment and talk about my favorite team, the Redskins.
For the last 12 years I have complained incessantly about owner Dan Snider and his riches to ruins of my beloved team. This year was different! How you ask? Instead of throwing money away, he threw draft picks away. The experts it seems will always find something to complain about and this year is no different. Their take is the Skins gave up to much for Griffin III, really? I don't think so.
Hard decisions had to be made, the Skins for the first time in a long while have a team that, although not perfect, can hopefully make some decent plays and put some points on the scoreboard. Maybe, just maybe they will go from the laughingstock of the NFC East, to the semi good 2 or 3 place team.
I am not expecting miracles, with the return of most of last years roster, chemistry can't be blamed for poor playing. With the addition of a quarterback that from what I have seen, read and heard, seems to be stepping into his role as the guy to get us back to the playoffs. Will it happen this year? I don't know, I am hopeful it will. A lot has been laid on Griffin III's shoulders, how he handles it will determine where we are in a few months.
Some of the players I am following , favorites from last year: Kerrigan, who showed a little of what I am hoping will be a great outside defense. Helu, who had a few great plays but needs to be more consistent. Corner backs, Deangelo Hall & Josh Wilson. Our offense was pretty decent but still needs some work. Defense I am holding my breath on, I do like Bowen and Jenkins and hope to see some major improvements from last year. There are many players I know I am not mentioning, important players, but this is just my opinion and players I am watching.
Most importantly, I will be watching our new QB, to see him hopefully get the Skins back into playoff contention if not this year, well, there is always next year!
