Will it be a rain shortened race? Quicken Loans 400 goes green!
Good thing, because a campfire and a little vodka meant this race thread is just a little behind the times. Track drying is reportedly underway, and pre-race ceremonies are due to start any minute.
Joey Logano won in the Nationwide race yesterday, making that his fifth win in the series this year. He has also won in the Cup series and seems to be having a dream year. Although we haven't seen much of the number 20 Home Depot car up front since Tony Stewart vacated the seat, this year is totally different.
Everyone is talking about the bounce in Dale Jr's step. Although it has been 143 races and 4 years since his last win, the man looks poised to take that big step back into the winner's circle. As I said in the preview, he would love nothing better than to prove he can race at this track and win a race, one that isn't shortened by rain or won by strategy. He could very well be today's winner.
As I mentioned above, Marcos Ambrose is on the pole for the race, breaking the track record to get there. That was expected, given the new pavement. How the race will play out is anyone's guess.
It's time to go racing. So strap in and join the fun!
