Beatin' and Bangin' at Richmond - we hope
The racing was fast paced and exciting. There was beating and banging and hot tempers. There was a former motorcycle rider in a car making his first green flag pit stop ever.
In other words, it was just what we, as fans, expect to see at a short track.
Will we see more of the same tonight?
It's hard to say. Carl Edwards barely missed the pole position, being beat out of that honor by Mark Martin. Both Mark and Martin Truex Jr have fast cars, so look good for tonight's race. So do Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, who finished third in last night's race, after being up front all night.
Carl Edwards has come out publicly and claimed that he is "playing it safe". Okay then.
Edwards isn't at the top of the leaderboard in Sprint Cup, and in fact, is mired back in 9th. His teammate, Greg Biffle is in first, and Matt Kenseth is in 3rd. If I were Carl, I'd quit playing it safe and get my ass in gear.
I'll be at work for the first part of the race, but will join in as soon as I get home. In the meantime, Let's go racing boys!!
