NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: 3M Performance 400 Live Thread

It's a beautiful day in the Irish Hills of Michigan, and it's time to get the 3M Performance 400 underway! It's already 81 degrees as of high noon, and the forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms later today, but the chance of rain is just 30%. The Sprint Cup boys are ready to go racing, and we're set to watch the beginning of the end...of the Race to the Chase of course. The drivers on the outside looking in have got to make a statement today, and Brian Vickers has already done that. He'll lead the field down for the green flag, and while I'm sure he'd love to win, finishing in the top 5 with a strong run today will go a long way to getting him back into Chase contention. So what will happen today? Can Vickers keep it up front the entire race? Will we see the race won again on fuel mileage? Will some of the drivers on the lower end of the top 12 falter? All those questions and more will be answered once this race gets started. This is your official open race thread to discuss the happenings before, during, and after the race. So sit back, relax, and talk about the 2nd race at the track where someone needs hit across the face if they say there's no room to pass! NOW LET'S GO RACING!
