It's the final fling of summer. Baseball is about to hit the home stretch, the NFL regular season starts next week, and college football is back! NASCAR's "regular season" is about to come to an end as well. Just 2 races remain. The 26-race-long Race to the Chase began back in February at the 50th running of the Daytona 500. After a grueling season, it's all come down to this, just 2 more races to determine the Top 12 who will battle it out for a championship. Auto Club Speedway hosts its final Labor Day race tonight. The race starts at 8:00pm ET, are you ready to rock? Earnhardt Jr. and Johnson will clinch a "playoff berth" if you will after tonight's race. Burton has a chance, but even if he doesn't clinch tonight, all he'll basically have to do is start his car at Richmond to clinch. Behind those 3, there are 12 drivers fighting for the 7 remaining "playoff spots."
What can we expect to see tonight? Will someone else fall out of the Chase? Will a first-time winner emerge? Will one of the 5 Winless Chasers finally make it back to victory lane? Will Edwards and Busch go at it again? There's only one way to answer these questions, you gotta tune into ESPN tonight for 250 laps of all-out melee under the lights in Southern California. This is your official open race thread to discuss the happenings before, during, and after the race.

Well that was certainly no phantom debris caution!
