Blog Photo - NBA All Star Contestants Announced

The NBA Dunk Contest has usually been hit or miss depending upon the contestants that they have, but this year they got it right.  A part of the reason why the NBA got it right this year is because the team captains, Dwyane Wade (East) and Chris Paul (West), were the ones that chose the contestants this year.
The NBA usually prefers household names to be a part of the dunk contest, but the best dunkers in the league are NBA no names.  And what the fans want to see are not necessarily average dunks by great players, but great dunks period; even if it's by average players.  This year, the Eastern and Western Conference will compete against one another.  The East and West will feature:

Whatever team LeBron plays on will win...

I don't have a dog in the NBA fight, I don't know most of the players. I can name the teams (though admittedly, it might take me a minute to remember them all) and that's about it. But, I always watch the skills competition - I love it.

I still say they need to bring that back to the pro bowl.

I don't have anything else to add.

I like the best shooter Jeff Van Gundy has ever seen to win the 3-point contest. Steve Novak.

Don't know about the shooting stars, however I think Gerald Green in the dunk contest, Matt Bonnar in the 3 point part, and Tony Parker in the skills competition.  Although he won't win I will be cheering for Nuggets dunker Kenneth Faried to have a good showing.
