After sleeping on it, let's take another look at last night's NBA Draft, and discuss some of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

First up: The Minnesota Timberwolves
The T-Wolves had 4 first round picks, and had the potential to do an awful lot this year and fill a lot of holes. Somehow, however, they just plugged the same hole 3 times, drafting 3 point guards with the 5th, 6th and 18th picks.

For starters, their #18 pick, Ty Lawson, is as good as gone, as the word on the street is that they'll ship him to Denver to learn under living legend Chauncey Billups. It looks like Ricky Rubio may be staying in Spain for another year or two (the article in the link is in Spanish, so consider yourself warned), so perhaps the Jonny Flynn pick wasn't that bad of a choice, since he'll have to step up during that time and run the point.

Another possibility is that the Wolves will trade Rubio. He appears to have the most value, and the Knicks are said to be VERY interested in making a deal.

Does Rubio even want to stay in Minnesota? He has dropped a few hints here and there that he doesn't, so that definitely makes the trade rumors even more intriguing.

Next up: DeJuan Blair
DeJuan Blair seems to be the consensus pick for the steal of this year's draft. But in the end, he landed with a very good team (the Spurs) who will be able to give him a little time to develop, but could also give him a chance to get minutes very quickly, if he shows that he's ready. Tim Duncan could play the 5 with Blair in the 4 spot, and that could make quite a formidable frontcourt.

But on the bright side, is this actually an advantage for Blair? Sure, he'll lose a couple dollars in the short term, but there are actually a lot of good things that could come out of him dropping this far. It's probably not what Blair would have wanted if he had his choice, but he definitely could have done worse for himself.

Finishing it off: Brandon Jennings
The kid who was a huge prospect coming out of high school and made the revolutionary move to Europe instead of playing for an American university somewhere. Since many scouts didn't get to see him play in Italy as much as he probably would have liked, there were rumors that he could go anywhere from #3 to in the 20's. Thanks to that high level of uncertainty, he wasn't invited to the Green Room, and elected to not even attend the draft at all, despite the fact that he was in the area at the time.

So after being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the #10 pick, he decided he would make an appearance. Of course, he was a little late, so he actually ended up taking the stage and being announced by David Stern right after the 14th pick. It looks like he'll be one of those guys who just does things differently in his career.

What were your most memorable moments of this draft, and which picks really stood out to you?

The Timberwolves plan on running the three man weave all of next season.

Dammit Spurs! How do you guys always make the smart move! Is it because you actually know a good thing when you see it?

My whole life, I've wondered what the point was of that silly drill. Now I know.

Pat, actually it is just a drill for coaches to torment their players at practice.

I know the T-Wolves draft is being mocked, but it will be looked back as genius, just as long as the T-Wolves go ahead with the move to a 6-5 and Under league.

I thought that when they drafted him, Rubio was gone. I don't think he will play in Minnesota at all. I think the Spurs again made another great move.

But that introduction of Brandon Jennings was just weird, and felt very awkward.

The early take on the Wolves draft picks(in the media up here, anyway!) is that Rubio is gone, so your forecast on the Knicks wanting Rubio could very well be spot-on...and with Lawson going to Denver, it leaves Flynn to run the point(plus whatever the Wolves get for Rubio).  The Wolves were going nowhere before, so let's give this awhile to see what happens.  GO WOLVES!!

The Lawson deal seems like an excellent one, from what I've heard. I think that with the Bobcats' 1st rounder (from the Nuggets) in 2010, they might end up with a lottery pick there.

If they can get Jordan Hill and... something else from the Knicks (what do they have?) for Rubio, they could be in excellent shape.

I'm hoping so, Pat...after 15 years of putting up with Kevin McHale, I'm more than willing to give Kahn some slack; it's not like they were going to be a playoff team in the West this year, anyway!!

I think that the way the Spurs beefed up their team shows that they are serious about contending for a title again in the near future.  The acquisition of Richard Jefferson and stealing DeJuan Blair in the 2nd round has made this team incredibly better!  Blair will give the Spurs depth at the forward position and he has the body size to play the SF and PF positions.  Blair was easily the NCAA's leader in offensive rebounding last year and that alone is an asset to a Spurs team that could use a little more size and athleticism on the front line.  Then, throw in Richard Jefferson as a versatile swingman and this team should definitely contend with the Lakers next year.  I have to give the Spurs 2 big !

they did build up there team again but the lakers are more interested in winning a tital than the spurs, also cant get past this laker team in the play-offs manu wont be 100% at the beginning of the season so they wont start out great plus jefferson wont get the ball as much as hes used jto so he'd be upset last they dont have a center!!!!!!!
