Following a playoff coming-out party, the Pacers look like they're just a move or two away from being perennial contenders.  With the 23rd pick in the draft, they have added Solomon Hill out of Arizona to an already solid roster.

The addition of Hill, combined with the return of Danny Granger, should add depth to a reserve unit that potentially cost the Pacers a shot at a title.  Their starting five was fantastic for most of the season and postseason, but the lack of depth really hurt Indiana down the stretch.  Larry Bird, who has returned to Indiana's front office, has pointed out that the bench needs a boost and he this pick should help address that with this pick

The Pacers have tough guys like Psycho T and Lance Stephenson, but they needed to add guys who Frank Vogel can trust to run an offense off the bench.  Hill fits more into the Psycho T mold than in the ball handling, playmaking role.

He works hard, rebounds, and plays tough on both ends of the floor.  And with the Pacers recent draft history in the middle or latter part of the first round, it seems a safe bet that he'll find a role.

The Pacers defense was great last season.  They allowed the second fewest points per game and the toughness that the team played with gave LeBron and the Heat more than they could handle for much of the Eastern Conference Finals.  Hill will add more toughness to a team that already has plenty of it.
