NBA Finals Triple Threat: If you watched The Sopranos, good call
READ MORE:
NBA
It's finally here, the NBA Finals. Triple Threat is here to take you through the final battle for the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Spurs own Cavs again By the time the Sopranos finale ended, this one was over. San Antonio destroyed the Cavs, not taking their foot off the gas pedal until the very end, winning 103-92. Tony Parker gave us all another reason to be jealous, finishing with 30 points, with ABC reminding us of his pending nuptials the whole time. Cleveland trailed by 25 at the half, not helped by LeBron sitting most of the first with foul trouble. After being behind as much as 29, the Cavs finally woke up late, rallying to get within eight. That's as close as it would get though, as the Spurs efficiently put their foes away. That was likely the last game of the season played in San Antonio, as the Spurs look almost certain to win the title sometime in the next three games.

Best Lines
  • Tony Parker, SA- 30 pts, 13-20 FG, 4 rebs, 2 ast, 1 stl
  • Tim Duncan, SA- 23 pts, 9-16 FG, 9 rebs, 8 ast
  • LeBron James, Cle- 25 pts, 7 rebs, 6 ast, 1 stl- BTW, Mike Brown? Bad call benching LeBron after two fouls. Fouls or no fouls, sitting your best player in the NBA Finals while your team is being blown off the court is beyond stupid.
Game 3 is Tuesday night in Cleveland, which might be the only good thing going for the Cavs.  Cleveland needs more from Hughes, Big Z, and Gooden, and even that might not be enough without LeBron and Boobie leading the way in a big way. What does Cleveland need to do to just avoid the sweep, let alone comeback?

Not that it's this simple, but I hope people focusing on LBJ being sat in the first will consider this: James sat the last 9 minutes of the 1st, and the Cavs finished that quarter down by 11; he must have played all or almost all of the 2nd (based on his PT; I missed watching some of the second), and the Cavs were down by 25 at the half.

I think it really is that simple. Easy for me to say now, but I've always hated when coaches bench a guy, particularly a star, to prevent the 3rd foul before the half. If James already had 3 then fine, but Lebron is intelligent enough to realize he has to limit fouls. Many other mistakes aided the loss, but that sure helped.
