NBA Mock Draft and Latest Rumors
Derrick Rose Already Looks Good At The United Center

Less than five hours before we do the Derrick Rose shuffle in Chicago, which means it's time for one last mock draft, which will serve as my official entry into the FanIQ NBA Mock Draft Fans vs Experts Challenge. Mr. Chad Ford, you are on notice.

Just so you're sufficiently amused, I thought I'd share the rumor circulating local airwaves this morning. There are people who think it's possible that the Bulls could trade Luol Deng and others to also acquire Miami's No. 2 pick. Way to blow expectations way out of the water. I guess that No. 1 pick just isn't good enough around here.

There's also word that the Jermaine O'Neal deal isn't completely finished. As far as draft day trades that could/would take place, and I expect that many do, I think it's very likely picks 4, 5 and 6 will not be made by the team currently filling those spots. Also, you can guarantee that Portland makes a trade early in the evening, possibly picking up the 10th pick from New Jersey to get a point guard alongside Brandon Roy.

Alright, onto my First Round predictions which will assuredly get blown up by all of these trades:

1. Chicago Bulls - Derrick Rose, PG, Memphis
As you can see from above, Rose is already capable of getting the United Center crowd on it's feet. If that isn't reason enough, there surely are others. Michael Beasley wouldn't disappoint, but it's becoming a guards league and the hometown boy is an easy choice.

2. Miami Heat - O.J. Mayo, SG, USC
Yes, I'm buying that Pat Riley is capable of passing on what we're led to believe is the obvious choice. Everyone telling him he's stupid, probably makes Riles more willing to go out on his own and get D-Wade a backcourt mate, even though this still leaves the Heat without a true point guard. The trade fun could begin here as well.

Michael Beasley Draft Pick3. Minnesota Timberwolves - Michael Beasley, SF/PF, Kansas State
The gift of all gifts for a franchise that could use some positive karma after being forced to watch Kevin Garnett win his NBA championship with the Boston Celtics. Back court is a need, but Beasley paired with Jefferson on the post? Giddy up.

4. Seattle Sonics - Jerryd Bayless, PG, Arizona
I'm doubtful that Seattle will be making this pick, but they could sure use a point guard. It's true, I don't believe that Earl Watson is on the cusp of a breakout. I'll safely put Bayless here for a team either trading up, or the Heat falling back.

5. Memphis Grizzlies - Kevin Love, PF, UCLA
Whenever a team is hot for a player two weeks before the draft and then in the final days apparently 'cools' on him, that's code for they really want the players and don't want to play their hand. That man is KevLuv, whom Chris Wallace has an infatuation with for better or worse.

6. New York Knicks - Danilo Gallinari, F, Italy
Russell Westbrook is a distinct possibility, but you know my thoughts on him. Mike D'Antoni is extremely familiar with Gallo's family and his style of play suits the Knicks new offense. This won't be the popular pick in the house tonight, we can assure you.

7. Los Angeles Clippers - Russell Westbrook, PG, UCLA
I hesitate to label the Bruin as a point guard, but his size will demand that it's his position. Not an exceptional ballhandler, nor a shooter, but hey he's athletic and can dunk like all get out. It's LA, baby, and that sells tickets.

8. Milwaukee Bucks - Eric Gordon, SG, Indiana
With Kelvin Sampson on the coaching staff, do the Bucks text message their pick into the NBA office? I, too, would be surprised if Gordon dropped this far, but if he does there's no way Skiles passes on a player he's very familiar with even thought they are known to have strong interest in Joe Alexander.

9. Charlotte Bobcats - Brook Lopez, C, Stanford
One of the few legit centers in the draft won't get past Larry Brown who still prefers the classic style of play. Lopez gives Omeka Okafor more room on the opposite block, and although he's unlikely to ever be a great player, I think you know what you're getting here.

10. New Jersey Nets - D.J. Augustin, PG, Texas
I feel comfortable in predicting that Portland owns this pick when it rolls around and finds their point guard to compliment Brandon Roy.

11. Pacers - Joe Alexander, F, West Virginia. Best available.
12. Kings - Mario Chalmers, PG, Kansas. Must get their point guard.
13. Blazers - Brandon Rush, F, Kansas. Fits in with the college All-American team in the NW.
14. Warriors - Kosta Koufos, PF, Ohio State. Inside-outside game will fit well.
15. Suns - Anthony Randolph, PF, LSU. Will have a Tiger role-model in O'Neal. Could use to eat what he does.
16. 76ers - DeAndre Jordon, PF, Texas A&M. Not going to be the next D Howard. Sorry.
17. Pacers - Donte Greene, F, Syracuse. Most upside available.
18. Wizards - Alexis Ajinca, F/C, France. Haywood is not the answer.
19. Cavs - Darrell Arthur, PF, Kansas. Need a post scorer and I don't mean Joe Smith.
20. Bobcats - Courtney Lee, SG, West Kentucky. Four year guy seems right up Brown's alley.
21. Nets - Roy Hibbert, C, G'Town. Need a center and he's good enough.
22. Magic - Marreese Speights, F, Florida. Will stay home and handle the physical work Howard.
23. Jazz - Robin Lopez, C, Stanford. Need filled.
24. Sonics - J.J. Hickson, PF, NC State. Best available.
25. Rockets - JaVale McGee, C, Nevada. Need some low post Yao insurance when his next injury occurs.
26. Spurs - Nicolas Batum, F, France. I hear he's an excellent flopper.
27. Blazers - Kyle Weaver, SG, Wash State. Curveball, but good defensive player will help.
28. Grizzlies - C. Douglas-Roberts, G, Memphis. Must.Get.TicketSales.
29. Pistons - Jason Thompson, PF, Rider. Just seems to fit 'Stons mold.
30. Celtics - Gary Forbes, G, UMass. Shouldn't fall this far, will be a great 6th man.

Remember to enter your predictions before 7:30 ET. Feel free to share some of your thoughts below leading up to the 1st pick.

Its my understanding that there's no way Joe Alexander falls below the Bucks.  Which is kinda awesome, because this year when FSN has all 82 Bucks games on, I'll be able to watch him.

Richard Jefferson has been sent to the Bucks for Yi. Any doubts now that LeBron will be going to the Nets now that they are basically getting rid of everyone who is owed big money in 2010-2011

Nice work for both teams.  The Bucks might actually be relevant this year, although I'm assuming this means no Joe Alexander to Milwaukee.
