Every day during the NBA playoffs, the Triple Threat will break down the latest action as we get closer to awarding the Larry O'Brien Trophy.LA Lakers 108, Utah 105 For three quarters plus, this game looked over. The Lakers jumped on the Jazz early and led by double digits most of the game. It looked like the Lakers would easily break the home team stranglehold and advance. Then the Jazz got desperate and started hitting threes. Lots of threes. Five triples allowed Utah to storm back to within two. Los Angeles stayed calm through and hit their free throws, 11-13 in the final period. Still, the Jazz had a shot to tie down three in the waning seconds. Mehmet Okur got a good look, but it was short. The Jazz got the rebound to get another chance. Deron Williams didn't get a great look though and also missed. Utah got the rebound again, but didn't have enough to time to get another shot off. Thus, the Lakers survive and advance into the conference finals.
Cleveland 74, Boston 69 Home court prevails after an ugly game. Only once, the Cavs in the second quarter, did a team score in the 20s in a quarter. Not surprisingly, LeBron was a force, scoring 32 points, 19 in the second half. It was that second quarter, fueled by a 17-2 run and a Delonte West buzzer-beater, that gave Cleveland they lead they needed. The Cavs won despite shooting 32.9% from the field, but took 25 foul shots to Boston's 13, a figure Doc Rivers wasn't too happy with. As we'll see later, that wasn't the only thing Rivers was unhappy about. Still, this series is tied at 3, and it's on to Game 7 in Boston.
