Every day during the NBA playoffs, the Triple Threat will break down the latest action as we get closer to awarding the Larry O'Brien Trophy.LA Lakers 111, Utah 104 The Lakers never trailed in this game, but that didn't mean it was an easy victory. The Jazz never went away though, and crawled back as close as one down with 1:17 to go. Pau Gasol hit a shot to make it a three point game with a minute to go. Forty seconds later, Gasol would grab an offensive rebound and slam it home to give the Lakers a five point lead with 20 seconds left and put the exclamation point on the game. Playing with a sore back, Kobe Bryant finished with 26 points, half of which came from the foul line. Gasol and Lamar Odom finished with 21 and 22 respectively to back Kobe up. The Lakers are up 3-2, but the way things have gone, does anyone expect this not to go to a Game 7?
Boston 96, Cleveland 89 For a half, it looked like LeBron James and the Cavs would break the home team's stranglehold this round of the playoffs. However, Boston rallied late in the half to pull within five, and the momentum continued into the second half. The Celtics shot 12-18 in the third quarter to take the lead and pull away. Cleveland's fortunes directly correlated with LeBron's shooting. He started out hot, scoring 23 points in the first twenty minutes. However, he only scored 12 the rest of the way, making just four of his last 14 shots as the Cavs faded. The Celtics now lead the series 3-2, and look poised to potentially get to the conference finals without winning a road game. They'll have home court advantage throughout the playoffs, so technically they don't have to win one outside of Boston.
