Day 1 of the NBA Playoffs definitely didn't disappoint. I'm thinking today's games might not be remotely as close, like that Boston/Atlanta game. I hear the line in Vegas is Hawks +56.

3 Orland Magic vs 6 Toronto Raptors (12:30, ESPN)

Just 97% taking the Magic. Well, then.

1 LA Lakers vs 8 Denver Nuggets (3:00, ABC)

93% going with LA. 67% think 'Melo will be sober.

2 Detroit Pistons vs 7 Philadelphia 76ers (6:00, ESPN)

94% are picking the Pistons.

1 Boston Celtics vs 8 Atlanta Hawks (8:30, ESPN)

100% going with the C's. Solid call everyone.

Have at it. Bonus for today: considerably less flopping. That's good for all involved.

1	I think its funny when people say that because they're missing the obvious... the only time Kobe does all the scoring is when no one else is, so obviously they'd be worse. Thats just common sense.

0	that's true; Lakers are so much better this year because of the added role players to back up Kobe. Lamar is having a great year, and adding Gasol, an "All-Star" really boosted LA.

1	I get amused by the whole "[Insert star player] is so much better when other good players are around him." Well, no sh*t. You can hardly hold it against Kobe that he's better with Pau Gasol. The list goes on and on and on of great players that became even greater and won championships when they had someone else. Michael Jordan wouldn't have been Michael Jordan without Scottie.

I have no clue how the broke down between home and away games, but for a superstar to get that many T's is almost unheard of. Its not like refs aren't afraid to give him. well, i was just being a punk there, but yeah i don't see why they threw AI out so easy... the Nuggs were down big anyway... of course Allen's going to be upset.

0	The Sixers are sticking around with the Pistons. I know they played them tough during the regular season, but I figured Pistons would step it up here in the playoffs. Maybe we'll have a decent series here.

1	Horrible charging call on Dalembert. Refs need to re-learn the charging call. Its so rare to actually get a legit charge call. Pistons may've been bailed out on that call.

0	I see it as this, back when Amare was drafted the Suns made the playoffs and beat the Spurs in game one. I think that was the game that Amare hit a three to tie and Starbury hit a halfcourt-ish three for the win or vice versa. Then people started to talk about the Suns and the Spurs swept the rest of the series. The same will happen here and the 76ers will be a force in the East in the future.
