As the Nets and Heat get ready to play a couple games in Europe, including one in Paris, the talking heads across the pond probably start and end every Vince Carter conversation with Vince's absolutely ridiculous dunk in the 2000 Sydney Olympics when he jumped over Frederic Weis' head.
In a tribute to his softness and lack of aggression, Vince has decided that he's tired of talking about one of the greatest dunks in the history of the game. He would rather be a diplomat and speak highly of the French, and their contributions to the game. Forget the "beat everyone by 50" Dream Team mentality, Vince just wants to be friends with everyone.I understand the desire to be an ambassador for the game, but come on Vince. You threw down one of the sickest dunks ever, on a 7-foot French guy who would later be drafted by the Knicks. And now you don't want to talk about it? That's the soft mentality that is one of the reasons Vince Carter has been one of the most talented players in the world in the past 10 years, and has never sniffed a ring. No. Killer. Instinct. And any shred of it that he may have had in the past... well... he just doesn't want to talk about it.
