Dare I say I'm excited for an afternoon of NBA hoops? What's gotten into me. A lack of football, most likely.

Anyways, there's reason to tune in to the Disney Basketball Association today because the eventual NBA Champion is likely playing whether that be the Spurs, Lakers, Celtics, Suns or Heat. Just seeing if you're actually paying attention.

Here's the slate:

San Antonio at Boston - 1 pm ABC
Los Angeles Lakers at Miami - 3:30 ABC
Denver at Cleveland - 7 ESPN
Washington at Phoenix - 9:30 ESPN

Since the Pro Bowl will suck after the first two minutes, feel free to Q up some hoops chatter here.

0	This isn't NBA related, but I remain puzzled why CBS insists that Gus Johnson be a studio host this season. They must be weak on surveying their viewers. Although you could do a lot worse than Kevin Harlan.

0	As far as NBA being exciting? Yea....not quite. I choose Indiana vs. Ohio St over any of those four...even if its still only February.

0	<--- Me interested of Marion in Miami. It's not even me being a T-wolves 'fan', if anything, I was more of a KG fan watching Minnesota play than anything else.. Sorry, NBA just doesn't interest me.

Midwesterner for 95% of my life, Atheist, and disliked the "thugs" so much, I chose to move to Atlanta, Georgia. Yea; those were highly unlikely to be my reasons anyway.

I guess the only reasoning (no sense to be "excuses") is because the game just doesn't extend my interest. A game of basketball where they ignore the basic rules, there are teams like the Spurs that excel, and full of guys that just don't care if they sat out for the next month or not, as long as they are "happy" meaning money (i.e. Jason Kidd, Stephon Marbury, etc.).

I mean, in other sports, they have their drama queens, but its secluded to a small section -- NBA is majority that...drama drama drama. Not fun IMO.

0	I know its only one game, but theres no reason why the Spurs should lose to a KG-less Celtics team. It'll be interesting to see if they can pull together a move, because I think they may need one to win the title this year.

Rumor or not, Kidd didn't want to play for his team because he wasn't getting the money he wanted, which, generalizing mind you, is about the same damn thing Marbury did -- so why not compare the two?

Why compare NBA right to NFL, that should be laughable as well -- two completely different sports..

Am I just not capable of saying in a live thread that the NBA does not interest me, and we be fine with it? Jeez. Don't force too many opinions down ones throat now...

0	I don't know if the Heat can keep this pace up for a whole game yet, but they are obviously going to benefit from having Marion and Banks far more than the Suns will benefit from having Shaq.

Not NBA related:
I have been having a horrible day in all aspects. I mean everything I ate tasted like crap, I was woken up hours before I wanted to be up, shot some hoops and couldn't make a basket, played NBA 2k8 and couldn't make a basket, and when I saw Carolina being down by double digits for that much of the Clemson game, I was on the brink of taking sleeping pills until I passed out.

What. A. Comeback. The defensive pressure in those final three minutes, the shots by Green and the drive by Q. I can't express how much this win over Clemson has lifted my day. Now I am not going to say that Lawson's injury is a blessing in disguise because a loss to dook is inexcusable and can not being covered. I will say that because of Lawson being injured, I can see the confidence and talent in Q that was expected from him out of high school and now there is a definitive back-up point guard when Lawson comes back.
