As the NBA trade deadline inches closer, here's a few trades ideas that would make both sides happy ...
Jason Kidd to Orlando for whatever they can muster.
Theoretically, Orlando could offer up Hedu Turkoglu, Carlos Arroyo, Pat Garrity, JJ Redick (remember him?), James Augustine, and Fran Vazquez and it would work out. They'd probably have to throw in a 1st round pick or two to actually get New Jersey to bite though. Arroyo, Garrity, and Augustine would all come of the books this year. Turkoglu only has 2 more years and apparently NBA teams actually want JJ Redick. Vazquez has yet to play in the NBA but was a hot commodity. Orlando needs a PG and Kidd would be perfect.
Andre Miller, Thaddeus Young to Washington for Gil Arenas.
Washington gets to improve right now with a good PG and picks up a young stud and Philly gets their star player to build around in the future. Of course, Agent Zero would have to okay this and sign an extension. If you're a 76er fan though you probably would end up being reminded of the Iverson years again, but that'd be a step up from now wouldn't it?
Zach Randolph and Renaldo Balkman to Milwaukee for Bobby Simmons, Dan Gadzuric, and Charlie Vilanueva
Apparently Isiah Thomas offered this trade to Milwaukee and Larry Harris turned it down. In related news, Larry Harris is a moron. The Knicks want to get rid of Randolph, who really isn't their problem, and apparently are willing to take on 2 of the worst contracts in sports today for it. If you're Milwaukee you essentially trade Charlie V for Randolph and Balkmen. The Knicks will never be good, so might as well dump everything bad on them. If this trade goes through, the Bucks suddenly become a top 3 team in the East (not that that means much).
Kobe Bryant and Ronny Turiaf to the Bulls for Ben Gordon, Ben Wallace, Joakim Noah, 2008 and 2010 1st Round Picks.
Hard to believe how quickly both of those teams' fortunes have changed.
