NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Lakers own Clippers The Lakers are now 24-9 against the Clippers since they started sharing the Staples Center with tonight's 113-92 victory. The Clippers were shorthanded, missing Tim Thomas and Sam Cassell once again, and it showed in the end. A close game was broken open with a 22-6 Lakers run to start the fourth quarter. Kobe finished with 31 while enjoying good nights from his supporting cast, including a season high 15 from Luke Walton and a 14 point fourth quarter from Sasha Vujacic.
Shock of shocks: Boston wins With their 90-77 victory over Toronto, the Celtics won their ninth straight game, their longest streak since 1993. As one can tell by the score, Boston won this one with defense, holding the Raptors to under 20 points in every quarter but the last. Toronto shot a meek 38.9% from the field. The Celtics are now 20-2.
Pistons blow out Warriors Not many people saw this one thanks to a 12:30 start time and a snowstorm, but Detroit pounded Golden State 109-87. The Pistons dominated the second quarter, highlighted by a 28-5 run, putting this one away early.
