NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Wade rescues Heat Miami blew a 16 point lead in this one, even trailing in the final minute. However, Dwyane Wade hit a 20 footer at the buzzer to give the Heat a 104-102 over the Jazz. Whether this will jumpstart a listless Miami team remains to be seen. What must once again be noted is how Utah is struggling. They are now just one game above .500 and can't win on the road, not what was expected from last year's Western runners-up.
Rockets dismantle Bulls T-Mac returned to the lineup, and the Rockets cruised to a 116-98 win in Chicago. For the Bulls, it's another low point. They lost badly at home to a team struggling almost as much as them. Houston took the lead for good with a 14-3 run in the second quarter, without Yao or McGrady.
This just in: the Wolves are terrible Yes, it was the second game of a back-to-back, but a 110-76 loss (to the Hornets) is embarrassing. Minnesota is now 4-22. While the worst record ever might be out of reach, the Wolves look like a lock to win less than 15 games, making them one of the worst ten teams of all-time at least.
Best Lines
- Jason Kidd, NJ: 15 pts, 11 rebs, 12 ast, 1 stl...Career triple-double #94 for Kidd as the Nets beat Golden State.
- Tim Duncan, SA: 34 pts, 18 rebs, 5 ast, 1 stl...Yeah, Tim Duncan's good.
- Yi Jianlin, Mil: 29 pts, 14-17 FG, 10 rebs, 3 ast, 3 stl, 1 blk...This was against Charlotte, who have two good defensive big men in Mohammad and Okafor.
- Calls for Kidd down - I suspect this will be a temporary lull unless New Jersey gets really hot.
- Payton wants to join Celtics - After watching him the last two seasons, I doubt he could contribute much, if anything, to the Celtics.
- Brown/James bump an accident - Why was this a story? I'm guessing the continuing paranoia that LeBron will leave Cleveland.
