NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Cavs beat Celtics again KG didn't play, LeBron went huge, and Cleveland won for the second time against Boston this season 114-113. LeBron just missed a triple double, finishing with 33 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals. Cleveland led throughout the second half, but the Celtics had a shot in the final seconds to tie. However, Boobie struck with a steal, and Ilgauskas's ensuing free throws sealed the win. The Cavs are now 15-4 since Christmas. Only the Jazz have been better in that span.
Lakers win in Gasol debut Gasol scored 24 points in his LA debut. Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, only scored six. Luckily for the Lakers, they were playing the hapless Nets, so it didn't matter in a 105-90 win. Derek Fisher stepped up as well for LA, scoring a season high 28. New Jersey sucks, having won just 3 of their last 16.
Shaq to the Suns? CF already reported it, but let me add my name to the list of people who don't get it. I can certainly understand Phoenix wanting to add some more muscle inside, but not a guy with a fork sticking out of his back all year and doesn't fit with your offense in any way, shape, or form. Quite frankly, I'm stunned (and suddenly want some cheez doodles).
