NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Cavs win in OT thanks to You Know Who On one hand, having to go to OT against mediocre or worse teams has to concern the Cavs. On the other hand, when you have LeBron James, does it really matter? LeBron scored 51 points in Cleveland's 132-124 victory over Memphis. James scored 25 of those points in the fourth quarter and overtime, although he missed a 19 footer that would've won it in regulation. Nevertheless, 51 matches the high scoring point of any player this season, and LeBron's eight boards and nine assists gave him the first 50-8-8 night in the NBA since December 2006. Again though, needing OT to beat the Grizz isn't a good long term sign for the Cavs.
Detroit 103, Toronto 89 Solid win for the Pistons after their embarrassing loss to the Knicks on Sunday. Rip Hamilton certainly played like a man on a mission, scoring a season-high 39. Detroit led by as much as 13 in the second quarter, but saw that lead whittle away by halftime. Toronto came out for the second half ice cold though, missing 10 of their first 12 shots, allowing the Pistons to pull away.
Knicks beat Wizards We should've seen this coming. Mid-January is When Weird Stuff Happens. How else do the Wizards go from beating Boston to losing 105-93 to the Knicks? This was the third time all season the Knicks have won two games in a row.

- LeBron James, Cle: 51 pts, 18-28 FG, 8 rebs, 9 ast, 3 stl, 1 blk
- Andre Miller, Phi: 26 pts, 10-18 FG, 5 rebs, 6 ast, 3 stl...Sixers' brass have to like that performance from Miller. Anything to boost trade demand.
- Rudy Gay, Mem: 30 pts, 12-22 FG, 9 rebs, 3 ast, 2 stl, 1 stl...Call me crazy, but with Gay, Gasol, Conley, Navarro, and maybe Warrick and Lowry, the Grizzlies have a pretty decent young core. Give it a two or three years, and Memphis might really have a team.
- Paxson backs team in Noah incident - What else was he going to do? I still think this became a big story because a.) everyone hates Noah, and b.) it adds to the charred remains of the Bulls this season.
- Lakers searching through retirement homes - Seriously, Chris Webber? PJ Brown? LA better make sure Bynum's only out eight weeks.
- Pistons still interested in Webber, too - Where do you think C-Webb should go, and do you think either the Lakers or the Pistons would be making a good decision?
