NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:KG sits, C's win Kevin Garnett was warmly received by the Target Center. Regardless of how the trade ends up, it was a bittersweet night for Wolves fans. No matter what people say about his "clutchness" and playoff success, without KG, the Minnesota Timberwolves would have been irrelevant. Kind of like they are right now. The Wolves lost this one when Craig Smith attempted to kick the ball back out after a rebound, only to have it stolen by Ray Allen. A lay-up by Leon Powe at the buzzer gave Boston an 88-86 victory. Ugh.
Kobe, Pau like playing together Time will tell if this is just the honeymoon stage, but for one night, you can't argue with a combined 66 points in a 117-113 Laker victory at Orlando. The Magic scored 44 points in the first quarter, but Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu spent the rest of the game in foul trouble, allowing the Lakers to come back. The Magic still led by 1 with 1:49 to play, but LA scored the next seven to ice the game.
Knicks blow it If the Knicks had remembered to cover Michael Finley in the final play of regulation, they would've walked out of the Garden with a three point victory over the Spurs. Instead, they left Finley wide open, he hit the tying three with 0.4 to go, and the overtime was all San Antonio. Spurs win 99-93. None of this is a surprise.

- McHale has no regrets - He just means the Garnett trade, which is good, because there a lot of things McHale should regret.
- Kerr looking for a 13th player - I vote for Paul Shirley.
- Mike Miller unaffected by trade talk - By "unaffected," Miller means "please get me out of Memphis and onto a real team as fast as possible."
