NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Dallas 105, Phoenix 98 A 16-0 run. Nine fourth quarter points. This uncharacteristic period of offensive incompetence paved the way for the Mavericks to come from behind and steal the win from the Suns. It prevents Phoenix from clinching a playoff berth, and drops them to 6th place in the West. For Dallas, it was only the beginning of a great day.
Seattle 151, Denver 147 (2OT) Ouch. That's gonna hurt. Those waiting for a big Kevin Durant moment got it here, as he hit a game tying three pointer in regulation. Durant did it again with five seconds left in overtime to force the second extra period, part of his career high 37. Seattle's other big rookie, Jeff Green, scored five points out of the box in the second OT, and the Sonics held on to win. The Nuggets' next three on the road: Clippers, Warriors, Jazz.
New Orleans 108, Golden State 96 With these results, the Nuggets and Warriors remained tied for the 8th spot in the West, with the Mavs now 2 games ahead of them with 5 to play. Needless to say, the Mavs took a giant step towards the playoffs Sunday. This game, meanwhile, turned into the Chris Paul Show, as many Hornets game end up doing. Paul finished with a triple double, as well as 5 steals, as the Hornets tied a franchise record for most wins in a season.
