NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Suns pull out the win at the end For 47 minutes, 58.9 seconds, it was a terrible night for Shawn Marion. He was 0-3 from the field, and hadn't scored. However, in the final second, Marion hit a baseline floater to give the Suns a 110-108 win over the Cavs. The Suns hit a season-high 17 three pointers, but still trailed most of the game thanks to giving up 69 points in the first half. They dropped that number to 39 in the second, allowing them to come back and cool off hot Cleveland.
Mavs hold off Lakers Kobe scored 40, including 16 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as Dallas won 112-105. LA led much of the first half, but the Mavs started the third on an 11-0 to take the lead for good. It's been a quiet year for Dallas, but they're right in the mix at 29-13.
KG helps beat Wolves Damn, that's still weird to type. Garnett left the game with an abdominal strain, but came back to seal a surprisingly tough Boston victory 87-86 over Minnesota. With 1:51 left, KG came back in the game with the Wolves up 86-81. Naturally, Minny blew it, not scoring again. Garnett assured the Celtics the win when he stole the ball from Sebastian Telfair in the final seconds. Just to let everybody know, Feb. 8: Boston at Minnesota on ESPN. I'll probably be watching "Clockwork Orange" style.
