Every day during the NBA playoffs, the Triple Threat will break down the latest action as we get closer to awarding the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
Boston 99, Atlanta 65 All the gnashing of teeth of what's wrong with the Celtics was quieted, for one day anyway. The Celtics led throughout, as the Hawks shot a pathetic 29.3% from the field, the third lowest shooting percentage in a Game 7 ever. By the end, the big story was Marvin Williams's take down of Rajon Rondo. The Celtics move on to face Cleveland in the second round.
LA Lakers 109, Utah 98 An ugly game with lots of trips to the foul line: 46 for LA, and 30 for Utah. Kobe accounted for 23 of those foul shots, making 21 of them as part of his 38 points. Utah gave themselves a chance by attempting 95 shots. Problem is, they only made 36 of them for a 37.9%. Coach Sloan was also unhappy with his team's defense. Other that, it was a fine game for the Jazz. The Lakers, who still haven't lost in the playoffs, lead the series 1-0.
