NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Dwight Howard is a beast Dwight Howard kept his name in the early MVP discussion in a big way. A career high 39 points plus 16 rebounds propelled Orlando over the Sonics 110-94. The performance stole the show from Rashard Lewis's first trip back to Seattle. He finished with just 9 points. Luckily for him, he was on the same team as one of the biggest performances so far this season.
Cavs blown out as LeBron leaves game LeBron James left the game in the second quarter with a sprained left index finger, and with him went the Cavs' chance of beating Detroit. The Pistons rolled 109-74, with most of the damage coming in the second half against the LeBron-less Cavs. LeBron's x-rays were negative.
Rockets power past Suns Houston's up-and-down season continues. They've gone from 6-1, to 6-7, to now 9-7 after beating Phoenix 100-94. The Rockets got an unexpected boost off the bench from Steve Francis, which may or may not be a damning indictment of the Suns' defense.

- Varejao angering teammates - Essentially ex-teammates the way this thing is going.
- Jermaine O'Neal still out - O'Neal is 29 (really?), but seems to have a 39 year old body at this point.
- Sloan not worried about Kirilenko's shooter - AK47 is 1-12 from three this season. Get this man out of Utah.
