NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Hornets rout Spurs In the span of one half of basketball, the Hornets ended any skepticism on whether they were real. New Orleans went into San Antonio are routed the defending champs 102-78, outscoring the Spurs by 25 in the second half. The Hornets now lead the Suns by a half game for the top seed in the West. The Spurs fall to two and a half back of New Orleans going into their rodeo road trip. Whether the Hornets succeed in the playoffs isn't known yet, but this performance shows that they're not over their heads.
Heat finally win a game The fifteen game losing streak has finally been snapped as Miami defeated Indiana 98-96 (not a good day for that state). The Heat celebrated like they won the championship after Indiana's last play was destroyed by Wade tipping a pass. Wade finished with 35 points, while Mark Blount of all people was a big contributor, scoring 10 of his 19 in the fourth.
Grizz beat Clips Rudy Gay continues his emergence, scoring 34 points as Memphis beat the Grizzlies in overtime 125-120 without Pau Gasol. Memphis shot 53.2% from the field. The Grizzlies took a 118-117 lead in overtime with 40 second left and didn't let go, thanks to going 7-8 from the foul line down the stretch.
