NBA Triple Threat: Your (almost) daily roundup of last night's action in the Association:Hornets over Dallas in OT Quietly, New Orleans has started 12-6. It will start to be noticed now, as win #12 came tonight in overtime against the Mavs 112-106. The Hornets forced overtime with a Peja Stojakovic. A solid overtime then gave New Orleans its first win against Dallas in eight years. Don't look now, but the Hornets now have a better record than the 11-6 Mavericks.
Bulls finally win back-to-back Not only that, they actually broke 100 points in the process, defeating Charlotte 111-95. John Hollinger pointed out this week that just about every Bull has started slow, but tonight that wasn't the case. 34 from Gordon, 29 from Deng, and 19 rebounds from Wallace. That's the Bulls team that people predicted would win the East (including, um, me).
McGrady scores 40, but it's not enough Once again, the Rockets prove to be very complex. They're 9-9 with wins over Dallas, Utah, the Lakers, San Antonio, and Phoenix, but also losses to Miami, Memphis, and now Sacramento. Tracy McGrady scored 40 points, 28 of which came in the second half, but that couldn't stop the Kings after they took a healthy lead into the fourth. Houston's silver lining is that they've had some injuries (again), and a tough early schedule (already played Phoenix, Dallas, and San Antonio twice). Still, they had to expect better than .500 at this point. The Kings, thanks to this and last week's win over San Antonio, officially hit "frisky at home" status.

- Antawn Jamison, Was: 28 pts, 11-18 FG, 14 rebs, 2 stl...Jamison and Butler (29 pts, 7 ast) have carried the Wizards in Agent Zero's absence. Yes, Sports Guy, we know. Ewing Theory.
- Jackson: Kobe won't be traded this season - Thank you, Phil.
- NBA forms relocation committee - Another nail in the coffin for the Sonics in Seattle.
- Kristic out 2 weeks - At this point last season, it looked like Kristic was about to move into the second-tier of NBA centers. An ACL tear and resulting complications have derailed that though.
