In this case, it's sponsor logos on NBA uniforms.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver says that it's most likely going to happen within the next five years or so.
This is commonplace in sports, between the D-League, overseas basketball leagues, the WNBA, soccer leagues, and many other professional sports leagues welcoming corporate logos on their uniforms.
Most of those sports, however, are minor leagues or overseas. Even the MLS, the biggest soccer league in the United States, is viewed as a non-major sport in the United States.
If the NBA adopts this plan, they will become the first major sports league in the United States to have corporate logos on their uniforms.
Do you think this is a good idea? There are certain uniforms that seem like they should remain untouched, but it looks like the commissioner is dead set on this idea.
Perhaps some companies can take the initiative and pay for logos to NOT appear on certain team jerseys.
