NBA’s All-Defensive Team

The NBA's Defensive Player of the Year didn't make the All-Defensive first team. Wait, what?

The NBA announced the first and second all defensive team this past Monday.  What is perhaps the most striking thing about these selections is that defensive player of the year, Marc Gasol, is listed on the second team all-defense and not the first team all-defense.  One would think that the best defensive player in the league would be on the first team, however, that was not the case this year; which makes you wonder if Gasol should have won the award in the first place or if there needs to be a re-vote with the first and second teams.

The first team all-defense featured:

G – Chris Paul
G – Tony Allen
F – Serge Ibaka
F – Joakim Noah
C – Tyson Chandler

The second team all-defense featured:

G – Mike Conley
G – Avery Bradley
F – Paul George
F – Tim Duncan
C – Marc Gasol
