I wouldn't say Carolina is better than UCONN yet.  Of course, the Huskies are losing as I say this, but Hansbrough would struggle mightily playing against Thabeet.  Thabeet changes the game more than any player in college basketball.

I think Thabeet would have a tough time altering Wayne Ellington's jump shot from the wing. Also UConn has no peremiter offense and Thabeet is a so so offensive player. It would be a good one but I like Carolina in that one.

There is not a clear cut #1 team this year.  There are about 5 to 6 teams that can be #1, and five of them already have been ranked #1, which are UConn, Pitt,  UNC, Duke, and WFU.  The other team that could be #1, but has not been is Louisville.  Then there are another 4  teams that can compete  in the NCAA Tournament, and can reach the Final Four, which are Michgian St (a team no one is talking about), Marquette, UCLA, and Clemson.

IMO, the best game of the night is Dayton at Xavier.  Dayton is one of the most underrated teams in the country at 21-3, and if they beat #14 Xavier tonight, then they take over the top spot in the A10

How is Duke at the top of their game. They have lost 2 of their last 4, Lost by 27 at Clemson and took overtime to beat Miami at Cameron.

Damnit, Mike Patrick is calling the game. I can take Dickie V, but Mike Patrick makes me want to shoot myself.

Lets say you're allowed to punch one Duke player in the face.  Do you choose Scheyer or Paulus?

Ouch.  Well that certainly sucks.

Wake if falling apart, they have lost 4 of their last 6, including tonights game.  They were down 20 points in the 2nd half, cut the lead to 2 points with less than a minute, but made some bone head plays that cost them the ability to either tie or win the game.  The reason that WFU is falling apart is twofold (1) for some reason Teague is not playing PG.  Dino switched to Ish Smith at PG 2/3 of the way through the season, and since the switch is when WFU lost 4 of 6.  (2)  Teams are starting to use either a 2-3 zone or a box and 1.  One of WFU's weaknesses is not having a pure shooter that can hit 3's to break a zone.  The other problem is the lack of ability to break the zone by getting the ball inside because Smith sucks as a PG, and makes bonehead decesions.  When a team uses a box and 1, and Smith is at PG, it is almost impossible to get the ball to Teague.  Take tonight for example, NCSU used a box and 1 primarly, and Teague only made 2 FGs.  His points came from free throws, and was fouled on attempts in the transition offense.

Anyone see that Kansas State is up 30-6 on Texas Tech.  Last I saw Tennessee was up 51-27 on Georgia.  Some big blowouts tonight.

Where are you?  It's on local for me.  Blacked out on ESPN.

I haven't seen a ton of UNC this year so I'm probably wrong, but it seems to me that for stretches of time UNC will just lay off and take it easy.  Also, they play no defense.  There's no doubt in my mind right now that UCONN is better than them.

well they said ACC markets could be blacked out. but im still not getting it locally. damn you BC, you had to go to the ACC.

Found it on a local station. No Patrick or Vitale, so I win.

I don't know if I'm more stunned that UNC isn't blowing out Duke or that Duke isn't blowing out UNC...  UNC has to be playing some of the worst defense I have ever seen. Ever.

UNC's weakness is not playing tough defense. There philosphy is that we are just going to outscore you.  They dont play defense, and allow shots to go up, and play the % game that they will get the rebound and score in the transition. The flaw in this philosphy is twofold (1) if you allow open shots, then people can make them aka BC's Rice killed UNC, and (2) you are assuming that you will outrebound the opposing team.  WFU outrebounded UN C, and was one of the main reasons for their loss.  The other problem with UNC is that Hansbough lives at the free throw line, and gets too many calls in the ACC.  When the NCAA Tournament comes around he will not recieve calls that he is use to.

They can also play some of the best...  Depends on the game.  I expect to see some better D by UNC in the 2nd half.

Duke throwing elbows at Hansbrough, how suprising!

Yeah, its just fundamentally flawed basketball, especially against a 3 point shooting team.

Well, you punch one of them in the face, and knee the other one in the balls (you said you could only punch one in the face)

Why should their be a blowout?  Rarely is there a blowout in this game.  It has happened in the past when one team is having a down year, but both teams this year are solid.

Well, UNC is just flat out superior (and started out hot), and then they decided to play no defense hence I was stunned you could play defense so bad and still be in the game.

I dont know how much you follow College BB, but Texas Tech isn't that great of a team this year.  They are 12-11 (2-6).  Whereas, Kansas St. is fighting for a spot in the NCAA Tournament with a 16-7 (6-5).  Georgia is one of the worst teams in one of the major conferences (ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, PAC 10), with a 9-14 record and 0-8 in the SEC.  The only other teams that could be worse than Georgia is Orgeon or Indiana.

Well, I knew Tech was bad, but 30-6?  That's just absurd.

Again, its their style of play.   Their philosphy is we are going to outscore you.  They want to play an up tempo game, and the only way to do this is to allow teams to shoot early in their possession, and avoid a half court set.  UNC's strength is their transtition offense.

I agree that its their style of play, but it doesn't change the fact that its horrendous defense.  They make it far too easy for the other team to take control of the game.  They can get away with it because they will always have more talent than the team they play, but its going also going to be the reason why they don't win it all (assuming that they don't).

I pick Scheyer then put pulus behind him and hit scheyer hard enough to knock both of them on their A##!

Man, just when Duke needed some defensive stops in the 2nd half, Lawson just OWNED Paulus.    Paulus was so slow and out of position that he couldn't even foul Ty as he blew by him.    No wonder Paulus had been benched......did anyone else notice that Lawson didn't drive as much when Paulus was out of the game ??????
