February has mercifully come to an end so we can finally start to enjoy sports again with March Madness on the horizon. Over these final two weeks of the college basketball season we'll be sizing up those teams on the bubble and let you determine who should be in or out.Up Next: Virginia Tech Hokies
Why they could be in
4th in ACC - Very little chance of only three Atlantic Coast teams making the tournament, so I like the Hokies chances if they can hold onto that position. Any upset in the conference tourney guarantees a bid.
Good wins: Swept season series against fellow bubble-mate Maryland.
7-3 in Last 10: At Clemson on Sunday night.
Why they would be left out
RPI: 54
SOS: 52
Bad Losses: 61-66 at Penn State, 69-72 at Old Dominion, 49-52 at Richmond
0-5 vs Top 50: Considering the level of play, that's an extremely bad statistic for the committee.
Conclusion
Conference positioning is nice, but I think Maryland and Miami (FL) could do more damage in March and I suspect the committee will think the same way. Lunardi has the Hokies as the last team in, but I think they are definitely out. Win on the road at Clemson Sunday and they're in.
