Mandatory Credit: David Butler II-USA TODAY SportsWeek 12 of the 2013 college football season has arrived, with plenty of exciting games on tap for the weekend. We've already discussed the top five games for the week, but what about the best of the rest?

Let's take a look at five under the radar games on the Saturday slate:

5. Kentucky (2-7) at Vanderbilt (5-4) - 12:21 PM ET, ESPN3

Gone are the days of Vanderbilt being the doormat of the SEC. The Commodores went in and won at the Swamp for the first time since 1945 last week, which also marked the first time they had beaten perennial SEC powers Florida and Georgia in the same season. After back-to-back bowl seasons for the first time in team history, Vandy can make it three in a row with a win over the lowly Wildcats. My guess is that this game will be closer than most anticipate.

4. Maryland (5-4) at Virginia Tech (7-3) - 12:30 PM ET, ESPN3

The Hokies finally realized that hanging on to the football was key if you want to win games. After turning it over four times in each of their previous two games, Frank Beamer's team went down to south Florida and destroyed a reeling Miami team. This week, Virginia Tech host Maryland, who has been horrendous since being annihilated by Florida State last month. The Terps' bowl chances would go up dramatically if they can steal this one on the road. Given their recent output though, I wouldn't bank on that happening.

3. Michigan (6-3) at Northwestern (4-5) - 3:30 PM ET, Big Ten Network

After starting 4-0, things went rolling downhill rather quickly for Northwestern. The GameDay curse continues as the Wildcats have lost five in a row and still find themselves winless in the Big Ten. Meanwhile, Michigan has lost three of four and hasn't looked right since early October. Even though injuries have been a big concern for Pat Fitzgerald's team, they should make this one interesting. Unfortunately, I see the slide continuing as the Wolverines walk out with the win.

2. Houston (7-2) at #20 Louisville (8-1) - 7 PM ET, ESPNU

Louisville still only has one blemish on their record this season, but that could change when they play their second toughest game of the season against a high-scoring Houston team. Something will have to give though since the Cardinals are leading the country in points allowed, giving up only 10.6 per contest. This game should be close the entire way since UCF only managed to pull out a five point victory over the Cougars a week ago.

1. #23 Miami FL (7-2) at Duke (7-2) - 3:30 PM ET, ESPNU

David Cutcliffe has the Blue Devils going to back to back bowls for the first time ever. A lot of their games haven't been pretty, but hey, it's the win that counts. On the surface, you would think that Miami should be able to stop their two-game slide here. But there's no doubt that the Hurricanes haven't been the same since the second half of the game with Florida State. Miami is more talented overall, however, Duke is the team playing with more enthusiasm and energy right now. Chalk up win number eight for the Dukies.
