NCAA Football Week 11 Early Live Thread

The Big Ten Will Be Won Today. Can Iowa's David Overthrow OSU's Goliath? [NCAA Football Early Live Thread]

11/14/09 in NCAAF   |   Pat   |   5232 respect

The biggest early game today is definitely the Big Ten matchup between Ohio State and Iowa. Barring a season finale upset, the winner of this game will win the Big 10, and go to a BCS Bowl. Tennessee vs Mississippi [CBS]
#3 Texas vs Baylor
Indiana vs #18 Penn State
Michigan vs #20 Wisconsin
Northwestern vs Illinois [ESPN Classic]
#15 Houston vs UCF
Michigan State vs Purdue [ESPN]

1:00
#21 Virginia Tech vs Maryland

2:00
#22 BYU vs New Mexico

3:30
Idaho vs #6 Boise State [ESPNU]
Stanford vs #9 USC
#14 Miami vs North Carolina [ABC]
#10 Iowa vs #11 Ohio State [ABC]
Nebraska vs Kansas [ABC]
Washington vs #23 Oregon State

I'm not a fan of Pryor.  I haven't seen anything from him that impresses me yet.  I haven't seen anything since watching him in high school and being from around where he is from, I learned, the dude is a jerk

i wanna give a late shoutout to the temple owl football team. great turn around for them after getting kicked out of the big east a few years ago, and now they can reach the MAC championship game if they win out. great job for them after they lost to 1-AA villanova in the first week.

I gave you a RESPECT Andi... Thats the 1st time all year I have heard a GATOR Fan speak the truth. I would put a couple other teams above them as well tho. Yeah they are undefeated but have played far below their lofty ranking.

11/14/09   |   kramer   |   11004 respect

Buckeyes just need a FG to win it.

Iowa's BCS chances are on the line right here...4th and a mile and it's picked off.

USC is being completely manhandled by Stanford.  27 points scored by the Cardinal in the 4th quarter and over 320 yards rushing for the game.

Party at the Shay house tonight

As I flip back and forth between Iowa / Ohio State and Fla / South Carolina....there's little doubt who is not the #1 team in the country. But then again I'm probably not watching the same game the BCS voters are watching... AGAIN!     I say AGAIN..... FLORIDA DOES NOT deserve to be #1.

Overtime at the SHOE. What a game by Iowa!!!

11/14/09   |   Scott   |   53016 respect

Iowa is showing some serious moxy in the Shoe.  Down by 14, they've rallied behind a true freshman quarterback and the game is tied with just over a minute left in the game

11/14/09   |   Scott   |   53016 respect

About time Toby Gerhart gets some mention in the Heisman talk.  178 yards rushing against USC and finally Pete Carroll is going to lose a game with USC in November

I know there are not that good. That is not what I meant by this, was talking about how Stanford was playing. Sorry I will clarify more next time

Kansas State got mauled today at home by Missouri. The Big12 Championship game should be called off. There's not a single team in the Big12 North that "deserves" to play for a conference title against Texas.

11/14/09   |   zzj000   |   388 respect

F***in Gators score again.... now 17-7 Fla. Damn I was hopin SC could put together a nice effort today.  Guess that was just wishful thinking.

There's a pick for Vandenberg on the ensuing drive after a Buckeye TD.

11/14/09   |   Scott   |   53016 respect

Stanford is giving USC a run for there money in the 1st half.  Cardinal has turned 2 turnovers into 14 points and they lead 21-7 with 6 minutes left in the 1st half

11/14/09   |   Scott   |   53016 respect

OSU finally breaks thru with a touchdown.... leads 10-3 with just over 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter

You have to think the oddsmakers which gave Ohio State a 2 TD+ nod did so believing Iowa's backup QB would melt under the pressure. So far, this kid is extremely sharp and should be able to keep Iowa in this if  his receivers can hang on to the ball and the Defense can continue to do it's job.
OSU scores as I type...... Still wish I had the Hawkeyes and the points! This has all the makings of another 2009 Iowa football finish.

11/14/09   |   Scott   |   53016 respect

Iowa and Ohio State locked in a typical Big Ten battle with neither defense giving much to the other teams offense.

Cincinnati is going to absolutely destroy Illinois in 2 weeks.  I think both the Bearcat quarterbacks might throw for over 300 yards against this secondary

Yet another proud moment in the Ron Zook era at Illinois.... getting spanked by a team that lost to a Greg Paulus led Syracuse squad

11/14/09   |   gobigblue1960   |   4803 respect

Tate Forcier answers right back for the Wolverines...a big 3rd and nine completion to Junior Hemingway, and then a nice TD toss to Ray Roundtree...28-24 Wisconsin.

11/14/09   |   Scott   |   53016 respect

I knew it was too good to last for Illinois.  Northwestern drives 99 yards in 6 plays, 14-3 Wildcats with just over 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Is the Big Ten Network trying to save money.? Why was there no camera on the other sideline.? That was no TD.!

I'm an Iowa fan, and I realistically think the Hawks may be in deep trouble at OSU. Playing in the shoe is tough for anyone at anytime, and Iowa will be coming in with a very inexperienced QB because of Stanzi's injury. The only way Iowa wins is if the defense does it.

Illinois and Northwestern are having a missed field goal contest in Champaign.  The Wildcats lead 2-1 after Illinois' backup placekicker was able to make one from 30 yards out to put the Illini up 3-0.

Living in Iowa and I had to BUY the Nebraska vs Kansas game on gameplan.

They're showing the Iowa game, which I get, and on ESPN their showing Miami vs North Carolina...  Who the heck in Iowa cares about UNC and Miami?

Oh how I hate ESPN!

I'd say so, only because OSU has dominated that conference for years, and they're 2-TD favorites.
