NCAA Football Week 15: Big 12 Championship Oklahoma Vs Missouri And Other Late Games

Oklahoma Just Needs To Win And They're In. And Some Other Meaningless Games [NCAA FB Later Live Thread]

12/6/08 in NCAAF   |   Pat   |   5233 respect

The early games were incredible, and the SEC Championship lived up to all the hype, and then some. But now it's time for the "late" games, including the game that will decide who else will play in the BCS National Championship game, as Missouri and Oklahoma will square off in the Big 12 Championship game. If the Sooners win, they'll play for a National Championship. If they lose, hated rival Texas will get the nod. There's still an outside chance that we'll see a Texas-Oklahoma rematch in the NC game, but that's highly unlikely.

Here are the games. If you're watching, this is the place to talk about them. And don't forget to make your picks for the games that haven't started yet. No matter what game you're watching, we encourage you to talk about it here. Bust obviously, the OU-MIzzou game is the big one.

7:00
Western Kentucky vs Florida International
Arkansas State vs Troy

8:00
Arizona State vs Arizona (ESPN)
South Florida vs West Virginia (ESPN 2)
Big 12 Championship: #20 Missouri vs #2 Oklahoma (ABC)

11:30
#13 Cincinnati vs Hawaii (ESPN 2)

Once again, don't forget to make your picks, and enjoy the games!

I hear you.  Number one, you shouldn't yap if you just lost to Kansas.  Second, nobody playing Oklahoma has anything to say by the time the second half rolls around.  Maybe they were getting yapps in while they could (before the inevitable beat down).

Anyone else laugh out loud when they saw Tom Cruise in the eye patch and think it was one of those spoof movies and not a super serious ones?

Because they will take Matt Stafford this year and not want to take another QB...hopefully

Somehow that missed FG looked like it made it when the made Oklahoma FG looked like he missed it.

I guess I should root for Missouri in this game, because Ohio State likely plays a Big XII team in the Fiesta Bowl. Texas if OU wins, Missouri if Missouri wins. I like our chances better against Missouri.

Then again they'd be coming off a win over Oklahoma so maybe it doesn't matter.

12/6/08   |   Chief_aka_James   |   3307 respect

so close on that kick.

The left foot was down first. Our FG kicker sucks and scares the crap out of me when he comes onto the field. Anything could happen.

I am a Mizzou fan at heart, both of my parents are Mizzou alumn's...but I have money down on Oklahoma, so I'm fine with Oklahoma covering the spread, but not make it humiliation.

See I know the rematch thing is there and in 2006 they didn't let Ohio St and Michigan have one but I think that the OU/Texas game was long ago enough and the fact that some people think Texas got hosed, if the Human vote splits between the three, the computers will put OU and Texas in there.

I think that would be nice for the Big 12 (and probably nice for Tech, as well, since they could sneak in there with an at-large if that happened), but I don't think it will happened. There's no possible way that they could justify an all-Big 12 NC game when none of the top Big 12 teams played any top SEC teams. Especially since the SEC has the last two champs... that would make the BCS look more fraudulent than it already does.
