NCAA Tournament John 3:16 Sign Taken By Security
The NCAA Tournament Hates God
Last night during Siena's "upset" win over Ohio State, you may have noticed one of those annoying losers holding up a John 3:16 sign. The sign wasn't up for long, seeing as a paunchy security guard quickly came over and snatched it out of the holder's hands. This was obviously done because the NCAA Tournament hates God.

Actually, before you get all riled up, you should know that the NCAA Tournament prohibits signs of ANY kind at any of their games. That's because even though the NCAA Tournament has plenty of public universities competing in it, it's actually a private event put on by a private organization, so they can do whatever they damn well please.

Of course, if you pay them millions, then you can stick a sign wherever you want. Anyone got a few extra million so we can get this sign up on TV?

The NCAA will snatch Baby Jesus right out of your hands [

Good for the security guard, that cliche in sports has gotten WAYYY overused.  But if it is a large cutout of Erin Andrews, those should be under every hoop!  Too bad the game would end up with a 5-2 score or something.

P.S. - Way to bait AG into a post...

What does John 3:16 even mean?  All I've ever heard of is "Austin 3:16"

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16  This is the foundation verse of the Bible.  If this rule applies to everybody I have no problem with it.  Jesus said that we should obey civil law.  I will not try to force my beliefs on you. All I ask is that you respect my beliefs as I respect  yours.

It means....For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

It should not be included on signs in sports or anywhere for that matter, spirituality is more useful (I'm a recovering Catholic)

They didn't take it because it was a John 3:16 sign. They took it because the guy holding it didn't have a rainbow afro on like the original Rollen Stewart.

I don't mind him at all, I am a christian myself, I just don't like comments that are over the top...like when 'someone' said the picture of Obama drinking a beer was sending a bad message to children...those kinds of opinions and comments are beyond me..and I would not force my beliefs on anyone..not that anyone on this site does....geez injuryrate don;t you know that religion, sports, and FANIQ comment boards are a bad mix!?  lol

Has anyone asked Tim Tebow or Kurt Warner to comment on this story?  They always know what God thinks, so of course we need their insights?

I posted a post on this that I had noticed it but couldn't get a video of it.

If it's not allowed, it's not allowed, but for the guy to just grab it out from the fan's hands without saying anything is just rediculous.

Wonderfully said!  And bless you for having the courage to say it.  Too many don't.
