NCAA Tournament: Oklahoma Vs North Carolina Elite 8 Live Thread

Time For Two Of The Best Forwards In The Country To Finally Meet [UNC Vs Oklahoma Live Thread]

It's time for the last Elite 8 game, and this one is the one that I've been looking forward to for a long time.

2 of the best forwards in the nation will meet each other this evening, with Oklahoma's Blake Griffin facing off against North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough. Griffin is the consensus #1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, and Hansbrough is the all-time scoring leader in the ACC, arguably the best division in college basketball history.

The Tar Heels are the #1 seed, and the Sooners are the #2. North Carolina is favored to win by 6.5, and 79% of FanIQ picked them to win. I'm leaning that way as well, but I think it will come down to guards Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington, and that Blake Griffin will dominate Hansbrough down low. Both players work extremely hard, but I believe Griffin is the far superior athlete, and is much stronger than Hansbrough.

Oklahoma doesn't really have the guards to compete with UNC, however. So the Tar Heels are my pick in this one.

If you're watching the game on CBS, chat it up here. Who are you rooting for, to get that last Final 4 spot? Let us know, and talk about the game as it happens. And as always, enjoy the game!

going to go a little off topic here. Watching sportscenter and what leads it off, UNC, michigan st............... Nope. I know Tiger woods won a little golf tournament but there is NO WAY IN HEL$ that should lead sportscenter over the final four! That is a fuc#ing joke!

Yea, I mean what were they thinking... winning the third tournament he played in after major surgery, and winning it after coming back from 5 strokes behind the leader... what a lame story.  ha... not

Wow...great game by the Heels. They looked really solid the entire game except maybe that 5 minute stretch where the Sooners started to come back in the second half. It was bound to happen at some point...the Heels were up by almost 20 and OSU hadn't hit a three all game.

I will say, I love Tyler, but Blake Griffon is a beast. Just nasty.

With the comeback he made in the final round, the putt on 18, and the fact that it's Tiger Woods - it's just fine leading off SportsCenter.

Quick question for the area NCAA Hoops expert...

Who was the team that UNC lost to that was "1 of the worst teams in the whole league"?

They lost to Maryland, Florida State, BC and Wake Forest. All of them made the tournament, and all of them were in the top 25 at some point this year. None of them were the worst in ANY league, by ANY standard. So what the hell are you talking about?

Who the hell knows... why bother really?

Hmm a Final Four with all teams that have won a championship since 1985.

Have to love it when the chalk makes it to the final four, makes for a much better tournament when all the teams actually have a shot to win as opposed to when someone makes it that you know if just gonna get crushed.

See that hug between Griffin and Psycho T? It was almost as if T was saying "Yeah, we won this time but you're gonna make a f-ton more $$$ than me in the NBA. Thanks for not kicking my a$$ too bad today, even though my team won".

We'll see how they do against 'Nova. I hope they can win so the ACC can represent this year.
