In the 7:00pm games tonight, a few Pac-10 teams were on a mission to prove that they belonged, after barely squeaking into the tournament. USC won the conference tournament, but many people thought that they wouldn't have made it if they hadn't. Arizona was one of the last at-large bids, and many people felt that they made it based on their name and their history alone. Looks like they may have been wrong.

#12 Arizona 84, #5 Utah 71
Arizona pulled off the 2nd "12 over 5" upset of the tournament, and another mid-major team was eliminated. Arizona had 4 starters with double digit points, including 29 for Nic Wise and 20 for Chase Budinger, and won this one going away. They led by 5 at the half and never looked back. They'll move on and face the winner of Wake Forest and Cleveland State.

#10 USC 72, #7 Boston College 55
Many people thought that a USC win here would be an upset in seed only, because they thought USC was a superior team. Judging by the beating they put on the Eagles, they were right. Taj GIbson had 24 points on 100% shooting (that's not a typo), and the Trojans overcame a 4 point halftime deficit by doubling up the Eagles in the 2nd half 42-21.They will play the winner of Michigan State and Robert Morris.

#1 Louisville 74, #16 Morehead State 54
This is another one of the games that was close at the half, only to see Louisville pull away at the end. Morehead State just didn't have what it took to stay with the Cardinals in the second half despite trailing by only 2 at halftime. Terrence Williams had 13 points and 9 rebounds, and Samardo Samuels had 15 points and 7 assists.

#4 Xavier 77, #13 Portland State 59
Xavier dominated, as most people expected. They had 4 players with 13 or more points, and shot 54% as a team. They'll play the winner of Florida State and Wisconsin.

Did you have USC or Arizona picked to win? Or did they mess up your brackets, like BC's loss did to mine? Lesson #1: Homerism doesn't pay.

F Yeah Pac-10!!!  USC came alive late in the season and won one of the deeper conference tourneys, Michigan St. will be a tough match for them, but Derozan is a stud, and the Tourney is the place for studs.
