Two important breaking news items to cover before kickoff. First, did you know plummeting temperatures result in frozen balls? You're not kidding. Secondly, if the Giants win this game today they'll probably play in the Super Bowl. That's what I'm here for, covering all the important details.

Current temperature reading in Green Bay says it's zero (feels like -18). You can expect that to drop 4-5 more degrees as the game progresses. That's cold.

Assuming you're not a Giants fan, you have to be rooting for Brett Favre tonight. A Packers-Patriots Super Bowl would set some records for viewers I would think, not to mention record amount of columns by Peter King in two weeks.

Glad I'll be watching this one at home, but if you're going to brave negative temperatures this is precisely the type of game making it worthwhile.

Two things concern me with this game:

1.) Weather this extreme is a big equalizer.

2.) I heard from someone, I don't remember who or from where, that since FOX has the Super Bowl, a Boston-New York matchup is inevitable.

The offensive line commercial is excellent.

Excellent class by the Packers, no shame.  With a team that young, there's no reason they won't be even better.

I am just shocked, I would have never guessed they'd have won this.  Heck, I had the Giants winning 6 games and Coughlin fired before seasons' end.  Wow.

There aren't many old people on the Packers (Favre, Driver, Clifton, Tauscher, Harris, and Woodson are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head). We'll be back.

We lost this game on coaching. The offense gameplan was awful, and we let Plaxico pick us apart. Hopefully McCarthy learned something. The way he's brought this team back from 4-12, he deserves another chance.

Also, if it wasn't obvious, go Giants in the Super Bowl.

Wow, what a game! All week long, everyone was talking about the temperature and how cold it would be, but it really didn't seem like it effected the players as much as some thought it might. Both teams played well in spite of the weather. It was interesting that the majority of yardage was gained on pass plays rather than the run. Weather like that, well, I assumed both teams would be running the ball a lot more.

Tynes... holy crap. Two missed field goals. Third time's the charm, I guess. I'm so glad he got a shot at redemption in OT. Fortunately for me, my Giants prevailed!

I was really hoping the Packers would win, so the Patriots could say that the beat every legitimately good team in the NFL this year. But I wouldn't mind getting another crack at the Giants. I think the Patriots' margin of victory will be a lot bigger this time. Call it a hunch.
