Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans4:30 pm EST on CBS
In what might be one of the best defensive battles of the year (aside from next week's matchup, if the Steelers win tomorrow's game), the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens face each other for the 2nd time this year.
The first meeting resulted in a 13-10 Titans win in week 5, and both teams combined for a total of 490 yards.
The Titans have the 7th ranked defense in football, and the Ravens are #2. Both teams are a lot lower in the offensive rankings, with the Ravens at #18, and the Titans coming in at #22.
This game has all the signs of an epic defensive struggle. The way this season has gone, that means it will probably end up in a shootout. Probably not, though, because neither team really has an elite passing game. Both do their offensive damage on the ground. The Titans and Ravens are 27th and 28th in the NFL in passing yards, respectively. They are both in the top 7, however, in rushing yards.
While Joe Flacco has done a great job as a rookie QB, Le'Ron McLain, Ray Rice and Willis McGahee have been dominant on the ground, combining for 2027 yards and 17 TD's.
The Titans' two-headed rushing attack of Chris Johnson and LenDale White has provided the bulk of their offense. With veteran QB Kerry Collins steering the ship, Johnson and White have combined for 2,001 yards and 24 TD's.
This game might end up a lot like the Sun Bowl game, where Oregon State beat Pitt 3-0. While the offenses are a bit more potent than that, these defenses are awesome.
