We all remember the Kansas City Chiefs' attempt to control fan behavior, and limit such indecencies like "excessive standing." The NFL front office didn't want them to be alone as a laughing stock, so they have decided to unveil a league wide Fan Code of Conduct.
The Goodellian doctrine bans the following:
Roger Goodell added, "[T]he in-stadium experience is critically important to the NFL, our clubs and our fans and it will be a major focus this season. We are committed to improving the fan experience in every way we can — from the time fans arrive in the parking lot to when they depart the stadium."
That's all well and good. I can support any fan behavior that is illegal, thus the term. Nor do I condone irresponsible drunkenness* and interfering with the progress of the game, especially throwing objects onto the field.**
My concern here is how the NFL will go about interpreting such a policy. If it's going to black and white, each stadium will be empty by the start of the second half, as the above list reads more like a "to-do" than a don't. Anyone who's been to a NFL stadium can agree with me. Raider Nation might as well continue their revelry in the parking lot and start investing in some big screens.
Good luck, Lt. Rog.
