NFL Has An Extraordinary Amount Of Terrible Teams
The NFL's Experiment In Futility, Where Terrible Teams Abound
Is it just me or are there a ton of awful football teams this year. Highlighting this weeks terrible match ups was the Bucs and Panthers that showcased Jake Delhomme throwing two more pics and ending the game with a 42.2 quarterback rating. Not to be outdone the Redskins and Chiefs played a historically pitiful 14-6 game that featured six field goals, one safety and zero touchdowns. Yes there are some great teams out there that are getting a lot of buzz and super bowl talk, but lets take a look at the bottom 10 teams in the league.

10. Carolina Panthers (2-3). The Panthers fearless leader Quarterback Jake Delhomme leads the league in interceptions with eight. The Panthers do still have a great running game with Johnathon Stewart and DeAngelo Williams. The Panthers only two wins this year have come against the Redskins and Buccaneers who are also on this list.

9. Seattle Seahawks (2-4). The Hawks exploded against the Jaguars last week beating them 41-0. This week they lost to the Cardinals and in the process lost two of their better players Patrick Kerney and Lofa Tatupu for the season which will hurt an already depleted team.

8. Oakland Raiders (2-4). You know its a bad list when the worst franchise in sports comes in eighth place. The Raiders have the worst quarterback in the league with JaMarcus Russell. Last week they lost to the Giants 44-7, but they did somehow manage to beat the Eagles who played about as bad as possible on Sunday.

7. Cleveland Browns (1-5). Coached by the Mangenius the Browns are god awful. What was supposed to be a quarterback battle between Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson has become the worst one two punch in the league. The Browns have had a very tough schedule so far, but did manage to pull out a win vs the Bills in a 6-3 barn burner. Now I'm done.

6. Kansas City Chiefs (1-5). The Chiefs only win this year came against the pathetic Redskins. They have lost to almost the entire NFC East and the coup d'état 10-13 failure against the Oakland Raiders. The Chiefs defense gets shredded by any team with an average quarterback.

5. Washington Redskins (2-4). The Redskins could very well be the worst team on the list but I couldn't justify putting them any lower because they have two wins. The Redskins have lost to the Lions, Panthers and Chiefs all of whom are on this list. Their only two wins came against the win-less Rams and Bucs.

4. Detroit Lions (1-5). The Lions are down to Drew Stanton at quarterback while Calvin Johnson looks on from the sideline. Lions quarterbacks have combined for four touchdowns this year and ten interceptions, while their leading rusher is averaging 3.2 yards per carry. Luckily the Lions have the Rams next week.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-6). This is where the list gets tough. Three teams all terrible all win-less. The Buccaneers resume includes losses to the Redskins and Panthers and were shutout in week three against the Giants. They have the 27th ranked offense and the 29th ranked defense a true sign of balance.

2. Tennessee Titans (0-6).
The Titans have been outscored by 114 points this year. What makes things even worse they were supposed to compete for a playoff spot this year. They somehow managed to get beat 59-0 by the Patriots yesterday and totaled negative seven passing yards. I didn't even know that was possible, throw a screen. Vince Young also made his 2009 debut yesterday completing zero passes to his own team and one to the Patriots.

1. St. Louis Rams (0-6). Not to be outdone by the Titans the Rams have been outscored by 115 this season. The Rams almost got their first win against the Jaguars on Sunday, but still have a firm hold on worst team in the league. The Rams have been shutout by the Seahawks and 49ers. They have scored the fewest points in the NFL and have allowed the third most.

Yeah it does seem to be alot more terrible teams then usuall this year..But with all the Coaching changes that went on last year, I would guess this should have been expected somewhat. Since 7 of these ten teams are starting with new coaches this year.

The raceto draft Berry, Bradford or Suh promises to be a tight one! one can 3 teams go 0-16?

I wonder if it has a lot to do with coaching inexperience in the NFL.  Everyone is looking for the next young genius in this league.  Some have hit the jackpot, some have failed miserably.  Gruden, Sherman, Shanahan, and Cowher will be coaching again soon because the NFL needs them.

I just think these guys are a bunch of punks who think too much of themselves and aren't competing at the highest of their abilities. I bet if it were contract time, they'd be playing a lot harder.

I'm not surprised the Raiders are on this list. I'm surprised the Artist Formerly Known As JaMarcus Russell did OK against the Eagles who left their "A" game in Philadelphia in a loss to the Raiders.

Sometimes it pays to be lucky.

I'm betting there will be an opening with the Redskins by the end of the week.

Even though the Rams are REALLY REALLY BAD, they're actually playing a little bit better every week.

The Redskins reduced Zorn's responsibilities after yesterday's game including no more play calling.  I dont know about by the end of the week, but most definately by the end of the season.  I would really like to see Cowher in D.C coaching, i think it would be a right fit for both ends.

I'm just glad SF is not on this list.

I wouldn't be surprised to see either the Jets or the Bills added to this list.  The Bills lost to the Browns and the Jets have lost 3 in a row.

I am dissappointed in my Titans.  They are saying we are losing because we are without Haynesworth which i disagree.  Yes we are not doing as well on defense but the blame is on the DBs and the injuries.  Our front 7 is still pretty good.  Right now i am predicting a QB draft pick and dropping/trading either Collins or Young or both.

The jets story is because Sanchez is throughing a near if not league high ints.  They were the talk of the nation because the 3 game skid.  The Bills are no surprise because, i know this is cleshay or however you spell it, look at T.O's history.  He first starts talking well of his new team then he starts sucking wind, then the feud starts.  The Bills team choose the wrong road to go down.
