NFL MVP: Inevitable Tom Brady Will Win, But Should He?
READ MORE:
NFL
There's little doubt Tom Brady will be voted the NFL's MVP as the awards are already rolling into Foxboro with Bill Belichick picking up league Coach of the Year honors. It's typical of voters to locate the best team, find QB, submit vote. Brady is worthy, no doubt, but he wouldn't get mine.

Here's where I 'penalize' Brady -- Tom's previous high total for touchdown passes was 28. This year - 50. What changed? Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Tremendous season but I'm going with Randy Moss as the most valuable. You take him off the Patriots and they are no longer prohibitive favorites. You give Brett Favre a Randy Moss and he's entering the 50 TD plateau as well, it's that simple. Without further adieu ...

1. Randy Moss - Changes the entire game unlike any other player in football.
2. Brett Favre - Packers success speaks for itself
3. Tom Brady - Statistically the best season ever for a QB
4. Brian Westbrook - Eagles would struggle to win a single game without
5. LaDainian Tomlinson - You give him the football, you win.

I think it's hard to decide between Brady and Moss. You can make the argument that Brady would have been anywhere near as good without Moss, but I think you can make the same argument that Moss wouldn't have been as good without Brady.  Moss has more touchdowns with Brady than with any other year.

Both men had stellar years, and there is certainly a good argument for a handful of other players out there, but my vote goes for Brady.

I think that Westbrook is a great pick, but I'd have to go with LT. Look at how the Chargers changed once they changed their game plan to go to him more. They went from Norv Turner almost getting fired, to one of the hottest teams going into the playoffs.

Most definitely. The only way I could justify giving the MVP to Brady or Moss is if they gave it to Brady AND Moss. They're co-dependent, and the two of them combined are possibly the most valuable players of all time, if the Pats win a Super Bowl. But one without the other doesn't quite add up to the other guys, in my opinion.
You know, that's not a bad idea. They both hit the stratosphere of their profession together, and largely thanks to them, 16-0 happened.
