NFL Mock Draft Version 137.0
They say if you think your product is going to be wrong, just call it 1.0 and move on. That couldn't be any more applicable to the countless NFL Mock Drafts floating about the eBays this morning.

Todd McShay is on 8.0, presumably headed towards double figures by tomorrow afternoon. Mel Kiper is on 4.0. Pete Prisco guarantees you that he'll get No. 1 correct, but that's about it. Scout.com has presented the last and final version.

What's makes the draft awesome is that none of those will be 100% accurate and probably neither will mine below. Make sure to enter the NFL Mock Draft Challenge. We're busily entering in all the "experts" 1st round predictions and will compare them to yours Saturday afternoon. Since Miami went ahead and already announced their pick, I've gone ahead and extended the closing time until tomorrow at noon.

Alright, here's my latest educated guess:

1. Miami Dolphins - OT Jake Long (Michigan) -  I just have a hunch.

2. St. Louis Rams - DE Chris Long (Virginia) - It's basically down to Chris Long and Glenn Dorsey unless an overwhelming offer comes across the table. I'd been leaning to Dorsey all along but I think leg suspicions will win out and the Rams go with Long at DE, and slide Carriker over to DT.

3. Atlanta Falcons - DT Glenn Dorsey (LSU) - ATL should be enamored with Matt Ryan for obvious reasons, but I can't envision defensive minded head coach Mike Smith passing on a d-lineman. Defensive end isn't as pressing a need as a run stopping beast of a tackle. He fits the bill. I think the leg issue is incredibly exaggerated.

4. Oakland Raiders - RB Darren McFadden (Arkansas) - Trying to get inside the mind of Al Davis is not only frightening, but damn near impossible. Here's where I think we could potentially see some kind of trade. A GM infatuated with Vernon Gholston might want to slide ahead of KC. Still believe Davis will go with the shiny object and take the flashier speed burning running back.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - DE Vernon Gholston (Ohio State) - Yes, Matt Ryan is still sitting out there and KC should get plenty of phone calls. Having made the Jared Allen trade, I'm guessing they're drooling over Gholston's pipes.

6. New York Jets - QB Matt Ryan (Boston College) - If the previous picks happen, this is going to be a special moment. Here's the catch - this isn't the Jets who ultimately take Ryan. Probably Baltimore. They can't give up on Kellen Clemens this early, and have more pressing needs. Gholston would have been nice but they'll take another defensive player a few picks later.

7. New England Patriots - DT Sedrick Ellis (USC) - Not convinced this is going to be NE's pick, either, but the best player available will go here to someone.

8. Baltimore Ravens - LB Keith Rivers (USC) - Probably the Jets making this selection. Bengals pissed.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - OT Ryan Clady (Boise State) - With Ellis and Rivers off the board, their 1st and 2nd options, might as well go with another need.

10. New Orleans Saints - DB Leodis McKelvin (Troy) - Best corner on the board.

Briefly the next five picks: Bills - Devin Thomas; Broncos - Branden Albert; Panthers - Chris Williams (not sure its Carolina here); Bears - Jeff Otah; Lions - Derrick Harvey.

So apparently Ted Thompson has already told Aaron Rodgers that he might take a QB in the 1st round.  If Thompson does that he should fired on the spot.

As for your picks... can't call you out on anything - this is one crazy draft.

One thing I know, is what seems most logical NEVER happens.

I wouldn't put that past Thompson. Honestly, if he feels strongly enough about Henne, Flacco or Brohm and they are around ... why not?

At that spot in the first round, it's my opinion you take best player available regardless of your need. Of course, that's really going to mess with Rodgers head.

Right now Rodgers has no competition for the job which I don't think is a good thing. A Chad Henne hanging around might be a good investment.

Eh.  I'd rather we sign Daunte Culpepper and make it appear that if he plays poorly we have someone to take over.  Bringing a new QB of the future is just going to mess with Rodgers head.

I think the thing that would tick me off the most is that Rodgers is a Thompson guy, and Thompson spent the last 3 years trying to run Favre out of town, and now when his guy finally gets his shot he's just going to draft another QB?

If Brohm was there, I could talk myself into liking the pick just because Brohm should never last anywhere around the 30th pick.  If we select Chad Henne I'll go crazy because he's barely a first day talent.  Barring a crazy unforeseen drop from a top talent there's really no reason for the Packers not to draft a cornerback.  Its such a deep CB draft that we should still get a very good CB prospect at the 30th pick.

Sweet!! Look forward to it.

Anyone think Bill and the Dolphins will pull some draft day trade out of nowhere for another first round pick?

I am praying for 1st round shenanigans. I want teams to miss their picks (except for Denver). I want trades, intrigue, cloak and danger. I am talking dog & cats living together, MASS HYSTERIA!

That's what I was thinking but I wonder if he has some other package to offer up for another one.

I think he should settle for a second rounder if he could even get that for him. The best he would probably get offered is a third round pick.

Me personally I would love to see him get on a team that would give him chance a at a ring and we all know that it won't be the Dolphins in the next couple of years.

With the top 5 picks, normally you have a team that has made it well-known who they want but at this point, other then Jake Long, this really is a draft that's up in the air. Here's how I see the top 10 +5 shaking down....

1. Dolphins - OT Jake Long (Michigan)

2. Rams - DE Chris Long (Virginia) - I'm torn between Long and Glenn Dorsey but I think the Rams greater need is at DE, especially with starters Leonard Little and James Hall entering there mid 30's.  Also, last years top pick Adam Carriker has put on weight to the tune of 315 lbs, a weight that would be hard to see him going back to DE.

3. Jets (from Falcons) - RB Darren McFadden (Arkansas) - The Falcons need picks and trade down so the Jets can get Darren McFadden, the perfect compliment to Thomas Jones.

4. Raiders - Glenn Dorsey (LSU) - Raiders shock the top 10 and make a sensible pick, selecting Dorsey to take the place of Warren Sapp

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Vernon Gholston (Ohio State)- The Chiefs need help on both of the lines but will take Gholston to try and take the place of Jered Allen.

6. Baltimore Ravens (from Atlanta) - QB Matt Ryan (Boston College)- this pick could be for either team, but if I were the Falcons I would trade down again, acquire more picks and take a QB early in the 2nd round....either Brohm of Flacco.

7. New England Patriots - OLB Keith Rivers (USC) - need cornerback help but have had success getting one in later rounds that have been productive.  I think they'll take a shot at Rivers to try and get some youth and speed into there linebacking corp.

8. Atlanta Falcons (thru Baltimore and the Jets) - DB Leodis McKelvin (Troy) - Best corner on the board and they need a replacement for DeAngelo Hall.  McKelvin also has some value as a punt return specialist.  With there second round pick they could fill the extra need at quarterback by getting Brian Brohm or Joe Flacco.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - DE Sedrick Ellis (USC) - best available player, a steal with the 9th pick and instant starter in the defensive line

10. New Orleans Saints - DB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Tennessee St) - There are rumors that the Saints want to move up to acquire Dorsey but I dont see that happening.  Instead, they focus on there weak secondary and take Cromartie.

Next five picks -  Bills - Mike Jenkins DB (South Florida), Broncos - Ryan Clady OT (Boise State), Carolina - Rashard Mendenhall RB (Illinois), Bears - Chris Williams OT (Virginia), Lions - Derrick Harvey DE (Florida)

The depth in the cornerback position is pretty thin after the top 3 and with the Saints and Bills needing immediate help, I dont think they could pass one of them up.  I wouldnt be surprised if one of them slips into the mid round range, maybe to Tampa or Philadelphia.
