Green Bay vs Dallas, one of the biggest games of the year and only a small percentage of NFL fans will be able to see it in their homes. This has put the NFL Network vs Cable companies negotiations back to the forefront. I've seen and heard a lot of "NFL Network (and Big Ten Network) sucks" remarks. Is it really the network that "sucks" or your cable company? Or is it you? I've yet to find anyone who has either network that dislikes the programming. Personally, I don't know why any sports fan would not have DirectTV, but I also don't understand why Time-Warner and Charter are being so persistent in not allowing fans to at least pay extra for these NFL games.
These two major cable companies dominate Wisconsin, so Packers fans are frantically finding places to watch tonight's game. Being fine Wisconsinians, that location will likely be a bar.
My only longterm concern about the NFL is that it will become so obsessed with its power, and they might already be there, that they'll start taking playoff games, etc. That won't end well. The league has become so popular because of it's visibility to anyone. Taking a few games, even the best ones, each week is fine.
What's your game plan tonight? Stat tracker, bar, complaining to your cable company or enjoying the Tony Romo and Brett Favre Bowl in the comfort of your home?
