Yes, folks we may have a new legend in the world of sports prognostication. Kige Ramsey, of YouTube Sports fame (?), blew away all experts. We'd like to claim that Kige picked every game correct, but that in fact isn't completely accurate. Mr. Ramsey picked the Saints on opening night. Nonetheless, his 14-1 mark was the best of all "experts" after Week 1.
As for the pundits who actually get paid to make incorrect picks, here's a rundown:
Maybe he's IS an expert: If not for the machine that is Kige Ramsey, Yahoo's Michael Silver went 13-3. Silver only missed on Baltimore, Arizona, and New Orleans. Sports Illustrated's loss is the exclamation points gain.
ESPN Bracket: This won't surprise you, but Ron Jaworski led the Bristol Boys after Week 1. There are times when I think he's the only one who really knows what he's talking about. The others who've played the game clearly understand football, but with Ron I completely believe he's not blowing smoke up my ass. Mike Golic was one of the top three experts last year, but going 9-6 this week puts him at the bottom. With all that weight loss, perhaps something else went with it.
Who to bring with to "Vegas": Paying for ESPN Insider is one of my worst decisions every month, but Seth Wickersham might be one of the exceptions. If you want to go 10-5 against the spread, Seth is a near lock. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports
Unsurprisingly, Bill Simmons is off to another roaring start ATS. 6-8 is pretty much standard operation procedure for the Sports Guy.
Theismann Watch: 11-5 for the jobless one.
Here's the full expert standings if you're interested. Week 1 doesn't tell a whole lot; except for the fact Kige Ramsey is the balls.
