NFL Scores: Thoughts on the Rest of Week 2
READ MORE:
NFL
Not a nice week for prognosticators ...

Jaguars 13, Falcons 7 Credit Joey Harrington for not throwing a pick six. As far as I'm concerned that's a win for Atlanta. Fantasy note: Any day now Maurice Jones-Drew.

Steelers 26, Bills 3
Nice win again for Pittsburgh, allowing 10 total points through 2 weeks. I'd like to say the Steelers are the 2nd best team in the AFC, but I'll wait until after facing the 49ers defense. Fantasy Note: Willie Parker looks like a Top 5 back while looking awful in the throwback jerseys.

Texans 34, Panthers 21 Buy, buy, buy. If the Texans were a stock, hopefully you invested early. In case the Falcons weren't already aware, Matt Schaub has a better passer rating than Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer through 2 games, and those two aren't exactly struggling. Fantasy Note: Goes without saying, but let's marvel at Steve Smith. Even when teams know he's the only threat, he still produces.

Packers 35, Giants 13 Is it possible the NFC North will be competitive? Apparently. The Giants aren't good, or anywhere close to good, but Green Bay didn't even let this stay interesting. Fantasy Note: DeShawn Wynn = Marion Barber 2.0?

49ers 17, Rams 16 No fluke, San Francisco procured a top defense over the offseason. Remain confident in prediction the 49ers win the NFC West. You? Fantasy Note: Someone tell Alex Smith that Vernon Davis is a constant mismatch.

Colts 22, Titans 20 Tennessee will finish over .500. It's not pretty, but Vince Young will get 9 wins.  Fantasy Note: Desperate for a WR? Try Roydell Williams. Someone has to catch the football.

Buzzsaw 23, Seahawks 20 Not out of the question Seattle finishes 3rd in this division. Credit Russ Grimm. No sacks on Leinart, 128 yards for Edge. Fantasy Note: Some owners stole James mid to late second round (*hitting head*)

Lions 20, Vikings 17 The good news is Detroit can beat teams without a QB. The same couldn't be said for last season. The bad news is that expectations in Detroit are going to be out of control after this 2-0 start. Still going to finish 8-8 at best. Fantasy Note: Safe to say Calvin Johnson will be the exception for rookie wide receivers.

Cowboys 37, Dolphins 20 Best team in the NFC? I'm leaning that way. Sunday night we'll find out. Fantasy Note: Marion Barber needs more than 14 carries a game.

Ravens 20, Jets 13 Meh.

Bears 20, Chiefs 10 Unimpressive win. Touches for Devin Hester on offense this season: 0. Please explain, Ron Turner. At least run him in motion and fake the hand off at least a half dozen times a game and give it to him on occasion. Fantasy Note: Benson reached 100 yards rushing.

Broncos 23, Raiders 20 Denver is making this way too hard on themselves. Should a team be allowed to call timeout at the last second before a FG? Fantasy note: Buy Selvin Young early.

While I respect Chad Johnson going into the dog pound, Terrell Owens takes the TD celebration lead with his camera spying.

Your thoughts.

I drafted Steven Jackson and Maurice Jones-Drew in the first two rounds. Am I screwed?

Yikes. My guess is you're 0-2?

almost. I have a sliver of a chance tonight, but it's not looking good.

Vince Young will get 9 wins

Once again, I don't have to remind you that teams win games...Thoughts on the games...

Jags/Falcons.  The Jaguars aren't quite sure what offense is, neither do the Falcons.  I believe there was 12 total sacks in that game, terrible line play.

Steelers/Bills.  Steelers have looked strong, but I still want to see them face someone good.  Agreed on those jerseys looking awful.  Yellow helmets?  Yuck.

Texans/Panthers.  Wow, Blown 17 point lead by Carolina, that's bad for the confidence.  Texans D looks solid, and looks like Kubiak finally fixed that o-line.  0 sacks in that game.  Give any QB that time, you'll have a good day offensively.

Packers/Giants.  The Giants may just have the worst NFC defense, they can't stop a thing.  Packers D does look solid to their credit, we'll see if they can keep it up.

Rams/49ers.  Another loss at home, that offensive line is embarrasing for the Rams.  I don't care who you face, 6 sacks is terrible.  49ers D looked strong for the second straight week.

Colts/Titans.  Colts had some terrible clock management towards the end of that game that almost cost them.  Tennessee's defense so far looks solid though, anytime your D holds the Colts to 22, you're doing something right.

Cards/Seahawks.  Cardinals have only allowed one sack in two games.  If they can keep that protection going all year, there is no reason they don't have a top 10 offense.  Seattle will be fine though.

Lions/Vikings.  Wow, both teams were trying to lose this game.  Still not jumping on the Lions bandwagon.

Cowboys/Dolphins.  Cowboys offense is great as expected, but giving up 20 points to the hapless Dolphins still isn't good.  That D is going be sketchy all year it appears.

Ravens/Jets.  What a brutal schedule for the Jets so far.  Ravens D was strong as usual.

Bears/Chiefs.  Bears D looked good again, offense still has it's problems, but that D will get them to the playoffs.

Broncos/Raiders.  No reason these first two games should have been as close for Denver.  They typically start slow though, I think they'll figure it out.

ArenaBowl.  Wow, Bengals defense....you really suck.  Don't get your hopes up Browns, because that line will never look that good the rest of the year...or at least until you play the Bengals again.

SNF.  The Patriots are really freaking good.  That is all.

That's all I've got.
