NFC North: 85% of you say the Bears will take it, while all 16 of ESPN's "experts" all pick the Bears as well. Sportingnews also goes with the Bears, but one of their writers (Vinnie Iyer) went with the Packers.
NFC South: 86% say the Saints, and once again all of ESPN says Saints also. Sportingnews agrees, but one of their 7 "experts" says Panthers.
NFC West: Definitely the most up for grabs, 43% of you say the Seahawks, 31% to the Rams, 22% to the 49ers, and only 5% for the Cardinals. Meanwhile, 9 of ESPN's 16 say the Seahawks, 4 say St. Louis, 3 say the 49ers. SN's official pick is the 49ers (nuts), of the 7, 3 say 49ers, 2 say Seahawks, 2 say Rams.
NFC East: 64% of FanIQ says the Cowboys, while 30% say the Eagles, leaving 5% for the Giants, 2% for the Redskins. Yet, 9 of ESPN's 16 pick the Eagles, the other 7 say the Cowboys. SN says the Cowboys, with 5 saying Dallas, and 2 saying Philly.
Wild Cards: 51% believe the first wild card comes from the East, and 37% believe WC #2 is from the West. All of them believe that a team in the NFC East is in, but only one believes that Washington will be that team. 4 of them think the Panthers get in. 10 of them think a NFC West team gets a wild card (5 for SEA, 3 for SF, 2 for STL). Meanwhile, Michael Smith believes the Packers are in, and Joe Theismann, being the schmuck he is, thinks the Lions get it. SN's official picks for the wild card are the Eagles and Seahawks.
AFC North: 47% of FanIQ says the Ravens will take this division, and 35% say the Bengals. 18% say the Steelers, and the Browns get whopping 1%. Yet, 11 of ESPN's "experts" picked Baltimore, 4 say the Bengals, and only Merril Hoge (homer pick) picked the Steelers. SN says the Bengals, 4 of the 7 say Cincy, and surprisingly, only 1 picks Balitmore, with the other 2 votes going to the Steelers.
AFC South: 93% of you say the Colts do it even without a defense, with 6% to the Jaguars and 2% elsewhere. All of ESPN says Indy minus Michael Smith and Sal Paolantonio (both have Indy getting wild card). SN is Colts across the board.
AFC East: 97% of you picked New England, while the Jets got 2% and the Dolphins got 1%. All 16 ESPN "experts" picked the Pats to win this division unsurprisingly, and SN picks Pats across the board.
AFC West: 81% picked the Chargers, leaving 15% for the Broncos and 4% elsewhere. Meanwhile, 15 of 16 picked the Chargers, with only Michelle Tafoya (she's an expert?) picking the Broncos. (Chargers are over-rated I tell's ya...) All of Sportingnews say the Chargers as well.
Wild Cards: 42% of you believe the first wild card comes from the North, and 41% say the West gets the second. 10 of ESPN's 16 think Denver finds their way in. 8 say the Bengals get a slot, only 3 say the Jaguars. 4 say the Steelers, 2 picked the Ravens. 2 for the Jets, and 1 for the Chargers. SN's official wild cards are the Broncos and Ravens.
Now for the Super Bowl predictions:
NFC: 40% of FanIQ thinks that the Saints are set to make a Super Bowl appearance, the Bears are next at 22%. Dallas got 12%, 6% to the Eagles, 5% to the Rams, 5% to the Seahawks, 4% to the Panthers, and 7% to the other NFC teams. Despite this, Sportingnews says the Cowboys come home with the NFC. As for ESPN, 6 of the 16 say Saints. 3 say Eagles, 3 say Bears, 2 say Dallas, and 2 say Seattle.
AFC: 48% of FanIQ says the Patriots take the AFC, 20% say the Colts, 19% to the Chargers, 4% to the Ravens, 4% to the Bengals, 2% to the Broncos, and 2% to the rest. Sportingnews says the Patriots will take it, with all but one having them in the AFC title game. 10 of ESPN's 16 say Pats, 3 say Baltimore, and 3 say San Diego.
Super Bowl: 30% of FanIQ says the Patriots win it all. 13% say Chargers, 10% say Colts, 10% say a different AFC team will win. On the NFC, 11% say Bears, 10% say Saints, 8% say Cowboys, and 8% say a different NFC team. Sportingnews says the Patriots, with only 2 of the 7 disagreeing. (One says NO, the other SD) As for ESPN, 11 of them say Patriots, 3 surprisingly say Ravens, and the other two say Chargers.
So there you have it, those are the predictions we will get to look back and laugh at when everything goes exactly the opposite of each prediction. If you haven't taken the FanIQ NFL Superpoll, you have until 7 PM ET on the day of the opener to do so.
Now, as we are only a week away, of course we see the power rankings coming out. ESPN, CBS Sportsline, and Foxsports have theirs out, and more are likely still to come. But what is FanIQ's Power Rankings? In the poll below, make sure to rank who you think the top 10 teams are coming into the NFL season, and there will also be a separate poll for who you think the worst 10 teams are in the NFL as the season is about to start.
Each week, you'll get a chance to enter your power rankings here as well, with the polls opening on Tuesday mornings.
And now we wait, only one more week until the real games start (no more sucky preseason!) and another unpredictable season of NFL football begins.
