I'm glad to inform you that the NFL has officially solved its problem with horrendous officiating this year. Or at least, I assume they have, because otherwise it'd be beyond stupid for them to be concentrating on potentially fining mascots who get a little rambunctious. Yes, in yet another example that the NFL totally has its priorities in order, the league is threatening to start suspending mascots who get a little too giddy with their celebrations. The NFL's primary target right now? Rowdy, the mascot of the Dallas Cowboys.
That darn rabble-rouser got himself on double-secret probation with the NFL. His trouble started when T.O. and Rowdy exchanged a chest bump after a touchdown in the Monday night game against the Eagles.
Some uptight NFL dudes got their britches in a bunch about prearranged celebrations involving mascots and threatened to slap the Cowboys with a five-figure fine....
Rowdy is banished to the locker room except for pregame and a brief third-quarter appearance to fire T-shirts into the crowd. (Pause for a moment to allow you folks to dab your eyes with a tissue.)

Good lord, what in the hell is wrong with the NFL? Apparently the moniker "No Fun League" is more true than ever before. Not to mention the fact that the league sees fit to fine guys the same amount for dancing as they do a guy who tries to gouge out another player's eyeball (the going rate for both is $10,000).
While the NFL is by far America's most popular sports league, it suddenly has more things about it that piss me off than any sport I can remember. It's got awful refs who literally are costing teams games, a completely ridiculous system of fines, and a commissioner who more closely resembles a totalitarian dictator than the titular head of a sports league.
God only knows what happens next. You have to assume it's only a matter of time before the league starts fining fans for cheering.
